OTL to the rescue!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret here!

Monday and it has been all go!

First thing to happen was as we were getting ready to go out this morning, Eric was rattling the cage door to come out for a run as well. That ferret can make a terrific noise when he puts his mind to it!

So, down comes the ferret bag and in goes Eric who immediately tries to get out of the bag!

He tried getting out straight on top of Holly and I who were having our harnesses put on!

Holly did a double growl and nearly sank her teeth into his butt!

Having got sorted out, off we went heading for the football field for a wee and a poo and a race around.

Eric was a little slow in getting going but after a while managed to start chasing after OTL.

It was then that we saw our next door neighbour running across the field but with out Bozo the Rottweiler, which was unusual!

'He's laying down and won't get up' she said, which didn't sound good, so OTL says he will put us back in doors and come back with her. She said she would get her husband to help as well and before we knew it us woofers were back in doors and OTL was off with one of our blankets in his hand.

When they reached Bozo he was still on the ground, on his side and not moving but when he saw them arrive he did wag his tail a couple of times, a good sign.

They managed to get Bozo onto the blanket and with two at the front and OTL at the back they carried him all the way back home, stopping a few times for a rest cos Rottweilers can be very heavy!

When they arrived at the front door Bozo stood up and walked in doors looking for his bed!

We've not heard any more and we haven't seen them taking him to the vets so maybe it was just he was a bit hot and decided to have a rest half way through his walk!

Lunchtime it was hot and down on the beach there were loads of Two Legs playing and Holly spotted a motorcyclist having a lunch break, so, we tried  mugging him for a nibble but he had eaten his lunch and we ended up with nothing!

Come on, there must be a crumb or two left!

Mind you, after we left him we got the sniff of kebabs andwe tried to see where the kebab shop was located in Southend on Sea, Holly reckons it's the third shop from the right!

Look, three doors up from that white building, we can see the shop front sign, Essex Kebabs!

Holly reckons she can see the price list in the front window but we reckon she is just dreaming!

Having a rest on the bench at the top of the hill, OTL tried to get us to believe that he has found a ship with a new propulsion device. Instead of a propeller or even sails, he says this ship has wind propeller just like an old aeroplane and he took a picture just to prove it!

I suppose you could mount a jet engine on top!

Wandering through the woods we came across a wild rose bush and while the colour was good the petals look a little ragged.

Wild Rose.

Driving back home the road was shut off at the level crossing. A goods train needed to cross the road, so we were held up for five minutes as it crossed the road.

OTL says it's The Six Five Special, whatever that is!

It's just five and we haven't heard anything from next door so maybe Bozo was just too hot and felt he needed a rest on the way home!

See you tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret.

Sunshine Sunday.

Hello Woofers!

It's us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret.

Just for a change, it is warm and sunny and no rain!

We went out lunchtime and found a strange looking contraption being planted on top of the path.

A strange looking thing that Holly said could have something to do with fishing!

Old Two Legs said that it was an antenna for Amateur Radio and to prove it he walked up to where they were playing with bits of wire on two long poles.

He stood in front of the thing, looked left and then right, did a couple of calculations in his head and said.......................

Twenty Metres!
OTL got a funny look from them and then a big grin, 'Yeah' said the Two Legs, 'How did you know?'

OTL said that he built something like that a long time ago and up in Scotland!

That was it, Holly and I found a soft bit of grass and sat down, this was going to be a long wait while he spends time gassing about radios and antennae!

About twenty minutes later he got all guilty about leaving us sitting on the grass and said goodbye and we continued our walk.

There were plenty of Two Legs wandering around the place and one daft woofer rolling in the mud!

We stopped at the  bench on top of the hill for a little rest in the shadow of the bench, well Holly hid underneath the bench while I sat on top and had my photo taken!

Do I look good or wot?
As we walked through the forest OTL spotted a leaf on the ground. It was surrounded by shadow but in the middle a sun beam had penetrated the canopy and lit up the leaf.

It's amazing when you think that eight minutes and thirty one seconds ago a sunbeam left the sun and coming in at the right angle and the right position to find the hole in the canopy to landed on that leaf!

What do you think Holly did then?

She had a wee on it!
That girl has no soul! I mean all that way and ending up as a damp spot in the woods!

Back to work tomorrow!

Bye for now.

.............and now an Osprey Cam!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret here!

Sorry about last night, Old Two Legs has been 'Cleaning' the computer, which means that all the 'Hard Drives' have been looked at, and cleaned and deleted if they are old and  not wanted any more!

It was still 'De-Fragging' when we went to bed last night!

Now, before we get onto what has been happening, OTL has got all interested in a web cam of a nest of Osprey's up in Scotland and if you fancy a look, click onto this link Osprey Nest

We have been watching this on and off all day. We haven't seen any feeding yet and it looks like it won't be long before they will be fledging and off on their way to Africa for the winter!

Back to things closer to home!

Yesterday we took the ferrets out with us, both ferrets and a camera and two woofers!

Well, us woofers were well behaved and didn't try running off, to be honest, it was rather boring cos every time we looked behind, OTL was trying to get the ferrets to follow him along the sea wall or on the beach or through the long grass and of course, we had to sit and wait for them to catch up!

Yeah, we'll be along in a moment or two, good ferret sniff here!
So, there we were waiting and sitting down and waiting and it only got better when we landed on the beach, at least we got to have a roll in some beach sniffs!

Not exactly the brightest day but every so often the sun would come out!
In the end both ferrets got into a running race through the grass and up the path which 't mind cos we at least got a rest on the bench while they ran around sniffing the Weasel Sniffs!

Come on, I know which way to go!
Today we left the ferrets at home, snoozing their tails off! Instead we took The Missus, well she enjoys a wander around the sea wall every so often.

Of course, we couldn't stop her from making a fuss over a puppy who's name is Buddy.

We thought it a silly name cos it sounds like one of those cotton things OTL uses to wipe out our ears with!
Yeah, go on, make the most of it, she won't love you when your covered in mud!
We didn't take the big camera but we got this shot of a snoozing butterfly!

Wossat clicking sound I can hear?
This year there seems to be a lack of bumble bees, we have seen maybe a dozen in all.

This was spotted buzzing around and OTL says it is a Buff Tailed Bumblebee.

Few Bumblebees means more pollen for me!
Now normally we have a rest on Saturday but there were some orders OTL needed to make up, so he has been 'Engineering' all afternoon.

We, on the other paw have been snoozing.

Who's the daft one?

See you tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret.

Loads a Paper!

Hi there Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret back again!

You know, I'm sure that the weather man was forecasting loads of rain blowing in from the west but other than a shower early this morning there has only been that horrid misty rain today and not much of that!

Both Holly and I have got grumbly tums, well the start anyway. We were eating so much grass this morning that Old Two Legs said we were changing into sheep!

Baaa!

OTL got a load of paperwork files from the accountant fella and has been sorting it out. It seems that he must keep all records and paperwork for seven years before he is allowed to rubbish it all.

So, this morning he has been digging out all the files older than 2005 and run them through the paper shredder. When he finished, around five thirty, he had filled seven plastic bags!

Now, if the dump will open he will be able to get rid of all the XL Files and a load of metal and electronic stuff that includes Li-Ion batteries!

There were not so many Two Legs on the beach today, maybe it's because they listened to the weather man as well and decided to stay at home!

Mind you, we did see a new sign!

Wot about a wee, can we leave a wee?
Although it was cloudy, it wasn't cold at all, in fact quiet mild but that didn't stop the clouds from looking dark and foreboding!

Well, it certainly looks like rain!
Even looking back towards Southend on Sea, it still looked like it would soon rain!

Fish an Chips an Kebabs but no rain!
We got to the bench and Holly decided she would have a rest under the bench, just in case it started to rain but it stayed dry all the while!

Well, it could rain!
I think that we could have a shampoo and a hair cut this weekend cos I've seen OTL oiling the electric shears and inspecting the brush and comb, not a good sign!

Still, we have got tomorrow!

Bye for now.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret.

Bit of a Boring day!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret back again!

What a day we have had. I mean, when you take a woofer for a walk it is supposed to be fun and full of sniffs and stuff. Well, there we were first thing this morning getting all done up in our rain gear, you know, the coat that doesn't fit properly and has elastic straps to keep the coat from riding up your backside, only our straps are a little streached and end up being wee'd on!

Not the best start to the day!

Lunchtime was a little better. There we were, kicking the back of Old Two Legs chair to tell him we wantted to go out and him saying that we can't go yet cos The Missus wants to use the car.

Stuff that says Holly, if we don't go out soon we will use the car and you will have to wash poo out of the carpet!

OTL sort of saw our reasoning and off we went!

He had the close up lens today and spotted the first Soldier Beetle this year, so he took a picture and it was only when he got home he spotted there were more that one insect in the picture, how many can you see?

Hint.....4

A bit further on we came across the last few bits of a seagull that had been eaten and other than a few feathers, one leg and half a wing, there was nothing left, however, a couple of feet away there was a Flesh Fly sitting on a leaf washing it's face!

Flesh Fly!

As we passed he called out that he had just finished a good meal and would be back later with his mates for a bit more!

As Holly says, 'Whatever turns you on!'

We didn't meet any other woofers on the walk and didn't find any new sniffs!

I'll race you back to the car!

Back home TM pinched the car, went off out, found the shops shut and came home with nothing!

I mean, wot a waste of time and petrol!

OTL fell asleep after lunch and we jumped up on the recliner chair with him and we all had a snoozy cuddle!

Like, is there a better way to spend an afternoon?

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret.

Caravan Confusion!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret here!

Now, you know that we were expecting the caravan mender man to give the van it's yearly service.

This is a new man Old Two Legs has found cos the one that used to  service the caravan has retired!

Anyway, he turns up this morning and does a double take saying that he won't have enough time to service a twin axle caravan as he was expecting a single axle van!

So, a new date was made and came in mumbling something service engineers and their inability to read their own writing!

Now, that looks better!
With the big camera and the close up lens flowers looked better especially the Wild Sweet Pea flowers.

That looks nice!
It would have been better if the wind wasn't blowing the blooms all over the place!

Mind you, we found a couple of butterflies making eggs and of course hanging onto the grass for dear life!

Making Butterfly Eggs!
Holly thought that yesterday's picture of her looked good and she stopped in the same place, just where the sun landed!

Do I look good in the sunlight or wot!
We have been watching the Flogs in the pond and they are getting bigger. There are some that we have seen wandering around the garden looking for food. I reckon there is a load more in amongst the undergrowth and under the fence into next door.

OTL reckons he will have to clear the pond of rubbish on the bottom of the pond and he will have to put a new liner in cos at the moment there looks like a leak has sprung and the pond will only stay half full, or is that half empty?

See you tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret.

We love Monday's!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret here!

After a good weekend full of rain and wind there is nothing so good as a cloudy Monday!

No rain today but plenty of clouds.

We were out first thing this morning and met up with that big bozo from next door. All he wanted to do was to snuggle up to Old Two Legs, didn't even want a sociable sniff with Holly or I!

It was the same at lunchtime. We met up with Jasper who decided to say hello to OTL but in the end joined Holly and I in a sniff!

OTL was more interested in photographing flowers and stuff like that!

Can't remember this flowers name, Holly calls it a Fairy Trumpet!
There was a pretty patch of Wild Sweet Pea and instead of zooming in close up to a blosom, he decided to look at the whole patch. Personally, I would have liked it better if he got close up to the bloom!

I'm sure there's insects in there but we just can't see them!
This is a good one, OTL was crouching down looking at this and at the same time he poked a grass stalk into the web. A big spider came rushing out thinking it had caught a big juicy fly but all he saw was OTL!

That scared the pants off her!

That fly is too big I'm staying here until it goes away!
OTL brushed the camera against his leg and took this one!

Holly framed in 'Foliage'!
As we were walking along the path out of the forest we saw a couple of butterflies charging about and OTL waited until they landed before running off these shots.

Don't tread on me I'm only a little butterfly!
This one was resting on a blackberry bush after having a mid air punch up with another butterfly!

This mating lark wears you out!
Tomorrow we have a man coming to give the caravan a service in time for when we head off to Scotland for our autumn holiday. We missed out on our Spring Holiday because the campsites were all on shutdown. Let's hope that the weather is warm so I can go in swimming in the sea and in the river besides the camp site!

Claws crossed!

See you tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret.

F1 and Windy Walks!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret here!

We have had some strong winds down here. The trees have been bending over all day, us woofers have been blown all over the place!

We went out at our normal time this morning and got blown all over the field. Having a wee was dangerous, the wind kept blowing it over our leg!

Old Two Legs had a job washing our legs when we got home!

Once we were back and after the ferrets had finished rampaging around the house, young Eric decided that he wanted to go out for a walk, so, once he had almost rattled the cage door off it's hinges, OTL decided Eric could go out for a walk as well.

We got to the edge of the football field and were met by some Two Legs and Mini Two Legs who wanted to give him a stroke and take his picture!

You just can't take him anywhere without TL's wanting to tickle his ear or take his photo, show off!

Lunchtime it was still blowing hard down on the sea front and the rig was still moored up at Sheerness!

Not going nowhere yet!
Once we were into the forest and down near that Buddleia Tree, OTL saw a couple of butterflies having a rest, so, out comes his camera and he runs off a couple of shots.

Isn't it rude to poke your tongue out?
OTL says he was thinking of putting the moth trap out tonight but we think there maybe some rain, but wet rain and electricity don't mix!

No, I will not 'smile for the camera!'
OTL was going to take out his big camera today but because of the wind, decided there won't be too many butterflies or insects but it just goes to show even he can be wrong sometimes!

See you tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret.

Snoozy Saturday.

Hello Woofers!

It's the Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret show!

What a dreary old day it's been, we haven't seen the sun all day. Old Two Legs was late in getting up this morning so we had to get The Missus to take us out for our morning walk around the field!

I mean, OTL was being lazy by staying in bed a whole hour longer than normal!

While we were snoozing on the bed OTL was cleaning the cage out and afterwards played a game of 'Chase' with Eric.

OTL would squeeze the squeaky ball then throw it down the hallway for Eric to chase and retrieve and then for OTL to throw again and sometimes the ball would go down the stairs!

Eric thinks this is one of the best games and Dooks his tail off as he runs backwards and forwards!

Lunchtime we headed off to the sea wall, the weather not getting any better.

Dismal or wot?
We stopped at the bench and found a Duck Poo on the bench, I mean, at least OTL cleans up our poo but these ducks are so lazy!

Not the best smelling poo I've seen!
One of the wild flower bushes was bright with flowers but there were no insects on it, just flowers!

Not a creepy-crawly to be seen anywhere!
Down on the buddleia tree there were a few butterflies but all the same breed. The buddleia looked more interesting than the butterflies, the way it curled up and over as the flowers grew.

Maybe tomorrow we will bring the close up lens for a better shot!
We recorded the F1 racing on the TV this afternoon, so I reckon we will be watching that tonight, well, it's something new to fall asleep in front of tonight!

See you tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret.

Busy Friday

Hi Woofers!

We are back again, Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret!

Normally we have a lazy day on Friday. Out first thing, wandering around the football field then back for a snooze while Old Two Legs cleans the ferret cages. After that it is another snooze before the lunchtime stroll along the sea wall.

No today!

We have had telephone calls and emails and messages on the mobile phone and even more emails!

I don't know what has happened, maybe the news that the pubs will be open or wot but suddenly OTL has sent loads of orders!

Not that he is complaining, it's just that we are wondering why they didn't order earlier when we had a bit of time!

Not to worry, as OTL says, it's all money!

When we got down to the sea wall there was a funny looking boat/ship heading up the Medway, must say, we've not seen one like this before!

Mind you, looking back we could see Southend on Sea quite clearly, it's a pity thet the wind was blowing in the wrong direction and that means we don't get a sniff of kebab on the wind!

In the forest we spotted a couple of butterflies and there was one on the buddleia, it makes a change to see the butterflies, especially as they have been cutting all the wild flowers!

Let's hope we see some more before the summer ends, we miss seeing the butterflies in the wild flowers.

Well, we managed to get all the orders out and although it is a bit late, we have done all that was needed. All we got to do now is cross our claws and hope the invoices get paid just as quickly!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret.!
