Spring is here!

Yo! Woofers!

It's Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret here again!

I don't know about you lot but we had a super snooze last night. The Missus stayed awake an hour beyond her normal bed time and Old Two Legs had a slurp of Single Malt!

OTL loves single malt and it always makes him very 'relaxed'! In fact, so relaxed that he was snoring most of the night!

Holly and I always sleep well and if the snoring gets too bad we both jump off the bed and head to the office where our 'Day Beds' are kept and have a snooze in there!

The morning walk was good, we met up with some of the Lads and had a good sniff on the beach.

Ring a Ring of roses, a butt full of noses!
As we were heading off back to the car the sun poked it's head under the clouds and of course, there was OTL clicking away like mad!

Sea Mist to the left, sunshine to the right, not bad?
Back home it was snoozy time again while OTL did his chores then had a game with the ferrets. They all love a game with OTL, sometimes it is 'Chase The Tease' and other times it's 'Tickle My Tummy' or just a cuddle in between raiding the Brambles Biscuits!

OTL is trying to loose a bit of weight 'cos he reckons his tummy is getting too big! Not that we worry too much and as Freddy says, a well proportioned tummy is very 'Manly'!

So, now he has managed to get all temptation out of sight, well that really means that he has finished off all the Choc Chip Cookies and the sweets and the crisps and the Twiglets and all the shortbread!

Now, if he wants a nibble in the afternoon or after dinner he has to nibble at the dried apples or pears that TM has dried in the Dehydrator! Plus he doesn't have a Marmite sandwich at lunchtime but rather a 'Healthy' bowl of freshly made soup from TM's soup maker!

How long he will last is up for grabs at the moment and the only things he is allowed is Blue Cheese and cheese biscuits or a Single Malt! The rest is all Rabbit Food and cold meats!

Poor OTL, he does suffer!

Lunchtime we were out down the beach again and on the way down OTL pointed out the buds beginning to swell on the branches, the first sign of spring!

Look! The first sign of Spring!
Down on the Sea Wall we saw the clouds above Sheerness catching the setting sun. It made a change from a blanket of grey!

Now, we haven't seen that sort of cloud for a little while!
Back home OTL found out that he is working on Sunday and Monday next week so that means there is a possibility that TM will be looking after us woofers and entertaining the ferrets!

Now that should be fun!

See you tomorrow, we got all day with OTL, starving!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

A Ferrety Day Today!

Hi Woofers!

We're back again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

It's another sort of grey day today, no blue skies, no wind and not very cold!

There were no waves either!

Is there anyone out there?
There were no ships to be seen and the only other things we saw were sea gulls resting on the breakwater waiting for the tide to go out so they could get their breakfast!

Don't worry lads, it won't be long!
Holly and I walked along the Sea Wall looking for new sniffs but even there it was rather sniffless!

This rain washes all the good sniffs away!
Down on the beach we had our normal race up and down the beach, Holly spotted something in the distance and said it looked like a woofer but when it got closer we saw it was a Two Legs 'Speed Walking', they did look so silly wiggling along!

Do you think they practise that at home in front of a mirror?
Back home we got back on the bed for our snooze while the ferret cages were cleaned and of course, the ferrets had their morning rampage around the house.

After a breakfast of Brambles Biscuits, young Eric decided that he would have a game with the cat tease and do some diving in and out of the bags that  were on the floor!

OK, that's the bags sorted, now, where is that Nargle?
It wasn't long before he found the cat tease 'cos Old Two Legs was waving about over his head!

OK, I've killed it, now, what's next?
Miss May, who is a little older than Eric had her rampage but left the cat tease in preference to the Brambles Biscuits which she spent time hiding in the internal folds of the sofa!

After all that hard work she just had to have a little snooze, on OTL's lap!

Warm and safe on OTL's lap!
Next out for a run was Freddy and Miss Wendy. Now Freddy is more interested in getting into trouble and he spends his time 'Rescuing' his squeaky toys and hiding them in The Missuses card room among all the boxes on the shelves!

'ere! You got my Squeaky?
While Freddy was sorting his 'Babies' out, Miss Wendy was attacking the cat tease, which she just loves!
She chases it around in circles until she gets too dizzy and falls over! Then she tries to chew through the string or bite the ball, making holes with her teeth.

You can see the damage that has been done and also just look at those teeth!

This is how you kill a Nargle!
Poor old Freddy, all this sorting out makes him a little tired and soon we find him 'resting' in the hall way, waiting for OTL to take him and Wendy up to bed!

It right wears you out!
You know it is such a busy time here, no wonder we all need a snooze in the afternoon!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

I got Chased by a Big Bozo Woofer!

Hello Woofers!

We're back again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

Down this end of the world it has been rather a gentle day today, the weather has been mild, in fact rather barmy!

The sun has been out and there has been some blue sky as well!

The promise of a better day!
It made a change to see the clouds all broken up. Over the past week it seemed that the sky was going to stay all grey and boring but this morning it was getting a little more picturesque!

Now, that's better!
Back home it was the same work and play and Eric was having a game of Chase The Tease with Old Two Legs and managed to rake his teeth across the back of OTL's hand.

The bleeding has stopped now!

Eric offered to lick it clean but OTL said that Eric might just get a taste for OTL and declined the offer!

Now, big news!

OTL normally has his 35mm lens on the camera and has been learning how to use that lens, like, if you want to get a big picture, get closer!

Which is OK except when he gets too close to the edge of a big drop!

Today he decided to change the lens to a 50mm f/1.8 and see what damage he can do with that!

So, first off there were a couple of sea going vessels. One was a real ship while the other was a floating platform with legs that dropped down to the sea bed. In the middle there was a structure that looked like a drilling rig?

Maybe they've discovered oil up the Thames!
On the last high tide a big lump of wood managed to beach it's self, Holly and I had a sniff but there were no interesting sniffs so we left it alone to float off on the next tide!

I don't fancy playing 'Fetch' with this lump!
It was fun on the beach, Holly and I payed chase and I dug a hole while Holly kept running up and jumping over the top of me!

Land on me and I'll bite your tail!
Once we were off the beach we met up with this big Bozo of a woofer, he is the one who wears a yellow jacket and guides a TL who can't see. When he has his jacket on and wearing a harness he is very good and quiet and sensible, however, when he gets off the harness and is allowed to run free, he goes totally potty!

He came storming up to OTL but OTL had seen him before and just managed a tickle behind the ear before the Bozo ran off again.

Off he went and back he came again but this time he wanted to chase Holly and me! Holly wasn't having any of this and stood still in front of him and gave him a severe woofing! That made him stop, except now he decided to chase me!

I don't like big woofers and got a little scared and did my 'Don't bite me' squeal and ran behind OTL!

It was then that his Two Legs called him and walked off while we went down another path!

No Bozo Woofers here!
Let's hope the weather gets better tomorrow 'cos the ferrets are all getting a little stir crazy!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

It's Archies Day Today!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret here!

Hey! It's Archie Babes Birthday today, he is all of six years old, we bet he has been stuffing his chops with loads of treats from all his mates down the street!

From this end of the world we are all in a line, ferrets to the left, woofers to the right and Two Legs in the middle!

OK,............ after three...........Six, twelve, three!

Happy Birthday to Arch,
Stick yer tail in some starch,
Do a poo in the pantry,
Happy Birthday to Yoooooooooooo!

We hope you have had a super day and make a right pig of yourself!

We were up early today and got down the beach while it was still dark, again!

Good Morning Sheerness!
Once again Old Two Legs was playing with the camera again, so, more photos of our tails!

When he does that I can see where we are going!
Back home again for a snooze on the bed while OTL cleared up the ferret cages and of course, the ferrets went on the rampage!

Miss Wendy had a great time beating up the cat tease in between beating up Freddy!

Lunchtime came and off we went down the beach where we had a great time tearing around and digging holes in the sand!

Holly doing Mach Nine!
As we headed back home OTL spotted a pink ball hiding in the grass. After he had kicked it out onto the path Holly and I had fun chasing it up and down the path and it landed at OTL's feet!

Come on, throw me again!
It was a great time chasing it but as we got close to the bench on the hill, I lost the ball while I was having a wee and a sniff!

With a bit of luck it will still be there tomorrow and we can carry on with our game!

Back home OTL managed to finish off the VAT thing and I was asleep under the desk while Holly stayed down stairs looking out the windows at the birds!

We will be glad when the Spring weather arrives 'cos we are getting a bit fed up with this grey weather!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

OTL gets trapped in his coat!

Hello Woofers!

Here we are again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

Wot a horrible day weather wise! The wind has been blowing in from the sea and although it's not as cold as yesterday, it's still blooming cold!

The last high tide almost washed the beach away and where there is normally sea weed and shells there was  nothing but smooth sand!

Holly and I getting blown along the sand!
Even OTL was quicker on this stretch of the beach! It was so cold that he didn't bother taking the camera out again!

He had his woolly hat on and his hood up and the zippers all done up to the top, which sort of made him look a bit of a plonker but he reckoned it kept out most of the wind!

Well, it was all OK until we got back to the car. He unclasped the hood which is held in place with 'Pop Studs' but the jacket was held together with a big zip that goes from top to bottom.

Now, what OTL hadn't noticed was that his beard had got caught in the zip just around chin level and when he tried to unzip the jacket, his beard got further entwined in the zip and sort of jammed the mechanism rendering the zip inoperable!

He was tugging and pulling and going Ooooo! Ooooo! Ouch and some other words ending in uger!

When he got back home and finally managed to extricate himself, he decided to give his beard a trim and Holly offered to help with the shaver, just like OTL did to her at the weekend!

Lunchtime was just as bad, the wind was blowing but OTL didn't get trapped in the zip 'cos his beard is much shorter now!

Holly's claw seems to have stopped bleeding and she enjoyed a dash along the beach and even managed a little dig in the sand before OTL told her to stop, just in case she did any damage to her claw!
If I can't dig, how about a roll in the sand?
The wind dropped down when we got to the football field and we were able to enjoy a few sniffs without them getting blown away!

I recognise this sniff, it is me weeing yesterday!
The ferrets have spent all day in doors enjoying a rampage around the house. Miss Wendy has been chasing the cat tease again and Eric has been dancing on The Missus work table again but this time there was no coffee mugs or jam jars full of fluid!

Right, we are off to do some mugging 'cos we can sniff dinner!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

A Seriously Lazy Sunday!

Hi Woofers!

Us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

Today has been one of those really lazy days, you know, lazing about, paws in the air and nibbles on demand!

We were up at the crack of dawn and down the beach before it got light, so no photos of strange things in the air or pretty lights over the water.

We did see the warning lights on the wind powered generators off the coast flash on and off but that was it, no excitement.

We didn't even see a bunny rabbit, mind you, the wind was blowing like mad and it was cold, I mean, like brass monkey weather as Old Two Legs describes it.

Come to think about it, I've never seen a brass monkey who's .............well never mind!

When we got back home Holly's claw was bleeding again so OTL set to with the jar of Vaseline and Holly had to rest on the bed with her paws up, not that she found that difficult!

All the ferrets had a fun time rampaging around the house and to help burn off excess energy they all had a go at chasing and killing one of the 'Cat Tease' we got from Archie Babe at Christmas. Now Miss May wasn't too interested and just gave it a whack with her paw but Eric went potty chasing it all around the shopping bags we have on the floor. Those ferrets just love diving in and out of the bags!

Freddy didn't so much as chase the tease, he sort of ambushed it as OTL dragged it across his nose!

Freddy would grab it, roll onto his back and play 'Keepy Up' with all four paws!

Miss Wendy on the other paw went potty chasing it around and around and around until she got too dizzy and fell over, then she would chase it around but in the other direction and sort of 'unwind' herself!

Lunchtime OTL decided to take us for a walk around the football field behind the houses 'cos he wanted Holly to 'Take it Easy' with her claw.

Lucky for her it was OK when we got back home and The Missus had got the last bar of soap in the local 'Sell it All' shop so OTL dipped it in water and plastered a wodge onto the end of her claw, just in case.

To make sure she rested it, she fell asleep laying on OTL's lap while I fell asleep next to him on the chair!

I will add, OTL also fell asleep!

TM came back later this afternoon after her glue slapping and spotted that Eric had knocked over a half cup of coffee onto her work desk and all over the paper and stuff there. OTL had cleaned it all up but there was a card with coffee stains that TM looked at and said that it looked an 'interesting' pattern!

Looks like Eric has got away with it but we wouldn't recommend he does it again 'cos he could end up roast and boiled!

This is the way to spend a Sunday!

Back to work tomorrow!

Bye for now!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

An Early Start and Holly gets a Trim!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret here!

OK, the weekend has arrived again and The Missus is off up the village hall again with her ladies doing a bit of glue slapping.

Now, that means we have to get up early so that she can get all her card making stuff up the hall and get back to let Old Two Legs take us down the beach in the small car.

Today OTL has a bright idea, Let TM take the small car and we will go out in the big car!

Good idea wot?

Only problem is, we have to go early so we can get back to claim our parking space, parking around here is at a premium at weekends!

That means we got down to the beach when it was dark!

OTL decided to play with the controls on the camera trying different settings, some worked, sort of and some didn't work at all!

First he tried a hand held shot of the moon but the shutter speed was too slow and the moon looked like it was dancing all over the sky!

Then, just for fun he changed the settings to 'Automatic' to see what the camera would do.

Well. the camera decided it needed flash and this is what happened.

The moon was still fuzzy but that was because of the clouds!
He decided that astrophotography could be left for another day and went off looking for something a little closer to earth!

Me, by flash!
Again, left on automatic, it didn't do a too bad job but the auto focus was terrible and took ages to find me!

As we got closer to the beach the light got lighter and it wasn't so dark, auto focus looked better but both Holly and I were facing the wrong way!

Woofers farewell!
Having decided that woofer photography can wait until the sun came up he then set about trying some 'Landscape Photography' but really what he wanted was a tripod. Still, it wasn't too bad, hand held and all that!

Sheerness by moon light!
It was still dark when we got back home so Holly and I headed for bed while OTL started poo shovelling!

We had a visit from the Bookkeeper to collect last months paperwork but he didn't stay long 'cos he still had the flu!

OTL kicked him out as soon as possible, we don't want any germs in our household!

After all that, Holly was invited into the bathroom and she thought it was just to get her butt washed but no, she got the full works, soaked and shampooed and rubbed and scrubbed!

I was hiding in the bedroom, I wasn't getting anywhere near her in case OTL got any ideas!

After getting washed and sploshed, she then got trimmed and snipped and shaved and baldified!

OTL was working on her claws and managed to cut into the quick on the black claw. You just can't see where the quick is on a black claw like you can on a white claw!

Normally if you cut into the quick it starts to bleed and the way to stop it bleeding is to block the claw end with some soap.

In this house hold we have the liquid soap, not the old fashion soap bar, so OTL had to use some of that stuff he calls Vaseline to seal the claw.

Of course, Holly is licking the stuff off he paw and it starts to bleed again! In the end, what with her licking and OTL applying copious amounts of Vaseline the bleeding stopped!

OTL has put a bar of soap on next weeks shopping list, I hope he never has to use it!

We got a visitor tonight, Auntie Shirley who went to the U.S.A. with TM, should be fun, with a bit of luck the muggins should be good!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

Pills, Puddles and the threat of a haircut!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret here!

Well, last night was fun, Old Two Legs was pulling his hair out trying to get the worming tablets down our throats!

You know, a tasty bit of meat with a pill inside. Woofer looks like they are eating it all and then, phtwee, out comes the pill and lands on the floor!

OTL finally chopped the pills in half and then made a snowball out of some soft cheese and buried the half pill inside and being fans of a bit of cheese, down went the pill!

Today we got an email from the vet telling us that the ferrets should have a distemper injection every year and not once every two years or as the new vet said, once every three years!

OTL has now changed the details in the calendar so that the ferrets get stabbed every year!

We were awake early this morning but OTL went back to sleep so we ended up getting up half an hour later than normal, it's OTL's fault!

It was still darkish down on the beach and OTL had to use the flash on the camera to catch Miss May running up and down the beach!

A Fast Flying Ferret!
Of course, young Eric decided that the stones and shells on the beach were just too cold, too wet and not very nice to walk on!

Then of course there is the puddles on the path that Holly was trying to dance around but ended up getting nowhere and on top of that she ended up with wet paws!

My Paws are cold, I need a lift!
Lunchtime the clouds disappeared and we got some blue sky!

It took a little while to get Freddy and Wendy to wake up and they both decided to have a cuddle in OTL's arms until we got back to the football field where they got down to have a run on the short grass!

Holly and I ran down half of the field, just to tell a woofer to Woof Off 'cos the field is ours. Trubble was, when we got to where he was he turned out to be a big woofer who said that the field was his!

OTL has been doing some 'Stock Checking' this afternoon which involves counting what bits he has in stock and trying to decide what bits to order!

Next we saw him investigating the box of scissors he uses to cut our hair, I reckon Holly is in for a shampoo and set plus short back and sides!

We left him to oil the shaver and sharpen the scissors and sneaked off for a snooze on the sofa until dinner is served!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

Wendy gets Stabbed, OTL Cries and we get The Worming Pills!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret back again!

Didn't it rain last night! I mean, Old Two Legs was snoring his tail off but the rain woke up everyone else in the house, even the ferrets!

Of course by the time morning arrived it was still raining and we had to wait until OTL found a window where he said we could get out and back without getting wet!

Holly sort of disagreed! Especially when she arrived at the puddles!

I Don't Do WET!!!!
We were having a run on the beach and met up with Polly. Now Polly is a bit of a fashion freak and the rain coat she had on did absolutely nothing for her, I mean, it wasn't even her colour!

Please don't laugh, I'm only wearing it to humour them!
Poor Polly, with a bit of luck she will find some seriously sniffy fox poo to roll in on the way home and the coat will have to be washed!

We met up with Bert, he's the one who fancies Holly Chops but she keeps playing The Tart and teasing him rotten!

Today she almost let him get close enough for a butt sniff but ran off at the last moment!

Poor Bert, he's in love with Holly but she keeps playing him along!
Lunchtime was all a bit of a mix up 'cos we got up late and that put everything behind, so it was off to the vet first before heading off to the beach. There was another vet on duty, not the new one! OTL introduced her to Miss Wendy and Freddy de Ferret and you know what? She took her phone out and photographed Wendy and Freddy! I mean, well, we are quite used to having their photo's taken on the sea wall but in the vets?

Wendy got a cuddle, a slurp of Ferretone and a stabbing against Distemper, so she is done for another two years!

Freddy was done a short time ago so all he got was a cuddle!

OTL also picked up a couple of dustbin lids called 'Worming Tablets' and he has the job of getting them down our throats tonight! Ha! Just let him try!

As we left the vets, as normal, OTL was whimpering and looking at he depleted wallet!

He makes such a fuss, just imagine what it would be like if he had to eat the tablets as well!

Down on the beach it was very windy, in fact so windy that OTL left his hat in the car rather than risk having it blown into the sea!

Well, all the sea weed has gone!
Freddy and Wendy enjoyed a run across the football field and jumped into their travelling cage as soon as the door was opened. Back home they went straight into the cuddle cup that was located in the very top of their cage and fell asleep cuddling each other, and both were snoring their tails off in no time!

I'll let you know how we get on with the worming tablet!

See you tomorrow.

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

A Sad News Day.

Hello Woofers!

Here we are again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

We were up a little late today so we didn't catch the sunrise but we did catch the sun poking it's nose from behind the clouds.

We can Seeee Yoooo!
It was OK but to get to the beach we had to get across some puddles that arrived last night when the rain came down!

Old Two Legs slept all the way through the rain and wind and he didn't wake up until late!

Holly ended up getting her paws wet!
Down on the beach there was a load of sea weed washed up on the rocks, Holly reckons it was the high winds and rain that washed it all down river!

Tomorrow it will all be gone!
Lunchtime we heard some sad news from Harrietsham Ferret Rescue, our little star ferret, Rufus, who came into the rescue centre with some serious problems and benefited from the kind support from the Allhallows Croppers and his medical bills were paid from the 'Cardathon' event and the donation from the weekends fun and games.

He enjoyed two years with the rescue centre and got to live with several lady ferrets!

On Christmas Day he had his dinner and went to sleep but unfortunately he didn't wake up on Boxing Day. We think it was old age that got him in the end but because of the care and attention he received at the rescue centre his life was extended another two years, all because of the Allhallows Croppers.

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.
