It's a Blue Moon, sort of!

Hi Woofers!

Here we are, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

Well, what a day, we've been out at the crack of dawn looking for UFOs in the sky and we thought we had one but the camera never lies and it was an aeroplane heading for Heathrow!

It might be a OoooFOoo!

Then it got closer!
We got home to find Holly's eye was getting no better, even though Old Two Legs has been washing her eyes every day. They were still sore, so, a telephone call to the vets and an appointment made for late this afternoon!

Lunchtime it was Eric and May's turn to go on a run about but Eric decided to stay in OTL's arms until we all got back to the football field. It was only then that he agreed to have a little walk across the field.

There were a load more Mole Hills and Holly said that it wasn't Moles but rather Ferrets wot made the mounds!

Eric got all upset cos he was being blamed for something he hadn't done!

No, it weren't me, Honest!
It was Holly who pointed out that if there was some misbehaviour, then the normal culprit was Eric and he shouldn't get too upset 'cos it was his own fault!

OTL said that it couldn't be Eric as the mound had been pushed up from underneath, so it must have been a mole and not Eric!

Eric was pleased with that explanation and told Holly to 'Woof Off'!

When we got back home and put the pictures up on the computer we decided that the picture of Eric showed him in a good pose. So, OTL enlarged the picture and her we are.......

Eric de Poser!
Now, we had seen on the news that there would be a 'Blue Moon' in the sky tonight only we wouldn't see it!

The moon is very close to the earth and today the earth will be between the sun and the moon. The sun will still be able to get some light on the moon by shining through the atmosphere and that will make the moon look red.

It's called a 'Blue Moon' 'cos the alignment of earth, sun and moon only happens 'Once in a Blue Moon'!

On top of that, when the sun, moon and earth all line up, it will all be below our horizon, so we wouldn't see it anyway!

So, the moon will be red and not blue and we won't see it and we don't think that is fair, so, Holly has been working on a picture OTL took of the 'Blue Moon'!

There's your Blue Moon after all!
We are off to mug OTL 'cos he has got Pork and Egg Pie tonight, with salad, so he can keep the salad while we have the Pork Pie!

Bye, bye!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

We see some strange things!

Hi Woofers!

Here we are, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

Now there are days when there are new things to see, like Old Two Legs falling out of bed. Or maybe Miss May jumping onto OTL shoulders from the top of the cage or even Holly offering to share  her dinner with me.

Mind you, that has not happened yet!

Well, there we were heading towards the beach when we spotted a ship heading up the Thames. It was going slowly, which is not unusual but there was a mighty tower stuck on top of it!

At first we thought it was a container ship but when we zoomed in on the photo it looked like a it was a sort of drilling rig.

What do you reckon?

Well we dunno!
That was taken with a slow shutter speed 'cos the sun hadn't got up yet but you can see the tower.

When we got back home OTL did some investigation on the internetty thing and found it!

It was a drill ship, it's called the Sertao! At the moment it is parked up on the Thames at Tilbury!

Wunderful thing this internetty thing!

Down on the beach OTL was clicking away at the sun rise but the sun wasn't ready to poke it's head above the horizon!

Now, that is worth getting up early for!
Back home OTL has been reorganising the office computers, trying to get a little more space on the desk!

Now that he has finished he finds out he has run short of sockets for the plugs so next thing will be a trip to the shop to get another extension lead with more sockets!

Lunchtime we took Fred and Wendy down the beach but the pair of them decided that they would rather stay cuddled up i OTL's arms, that was until we got back to the football field when they agreed to walk across it back to the car!

Holly was talking about the summer days and how she enjoyed sun bathing on the beach but today it was rather damp on the beach and as much as she wriggled, it wasn't as good as a summery warm sand!

Roll on some warm soft sand!
OTL wouldn't let he stay on the beach 'cos she might get sand in her eyes and get another dose of conjunctivitis!

OTL says that she has to keep clear of that 'cos it costs a fortune to get some stuff from the vet!

With a bit of luck, we should be getting some chicken tonight!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

Monday and it's back to work again!

Hi Ho Woofers!

It's Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret again!

Well, the weekend is over and we are all back to work. Old Two Legs has turned on the computers and The Missus was up early sloshing the glue all over the place.

Holly and I had been up during the night doing our 'Rounds' all over the house checking for intruders and singing our 'Guarding Songs'.

The ferrets were asleep for most of the night except for the urgent rush from bed to 'Poo Place' on the ground floor of their cage.

OTL woke up at the normal time, that is when TM forgets and switched the TV on and finds the volume was set for 'Full Blast'!

Down on the beach we went on a 'Sniff Hunt' to see what has been left behind by the weekend visitors.

Of course OTL was clicking away, as usual at the lights in Sheerness, I reckon one day we must take a trip over there to see what it is like from the other side!

OTL has talked about taking his camera and the UV torch he brought on line.

We asked him what he was going to photograph and he said 'Scorpions'!

Scorpions? Woofing Heck! They got nasty stings in their tails!

Well, if he is going over there, he is on his own!

Lunchtime comes along and TM has been riding around on her jet powered carpet sweeper, OTL has been sending out invoices, (he like doing that!) and we have been catching up on our sleep!

So, he slurps down the home made soup, digs Eric and May out of their sleeping bag and off we go looking for escaped Scorpions, well, you never know, they might have flown over the river to us!

Is that a Scorpion swimming towards us?
Down on the sea front we were extra careful about where we were sniffing, well, you never know!

Well, we didn't find any Scorpions and there were no new interesting sniffs!

The docks in Sheerness seemed to be rather busy, we saw a couple of car carriers pass each other, one in, one out!

We managed to get back home before the rain started and the puddles got any bigger.

Unfortunately, we got Doggy Scoff today and it's one of the ones that sniff of something poo'y. I suppose that we will have to mug OTL tonight and if we are starving, we may have to have a mouthful before going to bed!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

Sunday, 28 January 2018

It's Sunday, so the Bozo's are out!

Hi Woofers!

Here we are, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

Sunday is a fun day, you see we get loads of visitors walking along the sea front, strange woofers and even stranger Two Legs!

First thin in the morning we only meet the locals 'cos it's just too dark to see anything that doesn't have lights on!

We have seen a couple of black Labradors with LED lights on their collars and they did look daft, especially as they were still on their leads!

Not a Labrador to be seen!
One of the things about a weekend is that there are loads of new sniffs from the visitors!

Hey! Another sniff here!
Just for a change, we came back along the Sea Wall and when we got to the steps Holly pointed out that the rust seems to have got to the railings!

We'll use the other steps thank you!
Lunchtime we were out with Fred and Wendy but there were so many visitors that they spent most of the time in Old Two Legs arms blowing raspberries at the woofers!

Of course, there were the Two Leg visitors with all the same questions and misconceptions about ferrets!

OTL had brought his binoculars and Holly borrowed them to look at the birds on the mud flats. Just for a laugh, she turned around and looked over towards Southend on Sea. There was the pier poking out into the River Thames and loads of Two Legs walking along the sea wall.

Then she spotted them, there were a couple of Bozo Two Legs jumping up and down and waving their arms about. We don't know what they were doing it for but hey, it's the weekend and let's face it, anything can happen if you are on 'The Dark Siide'!

Back home for a snooze while The Missus cooks our chicken!

I'm dreaming of chicken leg and a little bit of thigh followed by a big lump of breast, Yum, Yum!
See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

A Really Lazy Saturday!

Hi Woofers!

Here we are again Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

Well, once again we were up just too early, I mean, like there is nothing but dark out there! I'll be glad when the sun decides to get up a bit earlier and we can see where we are going!

There we were walking down on the beach when from up the hill behind us a couple of woofers started making a noise behind us, well, around we turned and gave them a good rendition of 'Woof Off'!

Never did see them but they stopped woofing!

Sorted them out!
After a little while we headed off up the hill but Old Two Legs was still 'Waiting for the Light', well, he can wait, we were waiting for our breakfast!

A bit of colour but it's not going to set the world alight!
Come lunchtime we had May and Eric with us and of course there were visitors down on the sea front all wanting to stop and go Ooooo and Aaaaah!

Those ferrets get all the attention!

Miss May had her claws trimmed, so she was digging in the sand to 'Round them off'!

That's better!
There were a couple of Wormy Men out on the mud flats digging but we don't think they were 'Rounding Off' their boots!

My Boot's stuck!
This afternoon we have been catching up on the Britannia series on the TV, The Missus doesn't like it so we have to watch it when she is not here, so, as she has taken a trip to 'The Dark Side' or Essex as it is also known as, we get to watch several episodes!

See you all tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

Friday is Fun Day!

Yo Woofers!

Here we are again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

We have been having fun today, the Accountant has been over and we have been chasing him around the office!

He is not an 'Animal Person' and views anything with more legs than him as 'Suspect'!

So of course, we jumped up and then woofed and then tried to give him a lick and then we jumped up and in the end, Old Two Legs put us in the bedroom and shut the door!

Spoil Sport!

Next we decided that the birds on the bird feeder required a good woofing 'cos we haven't done that for some time, so we did.

Well, that was until OTL came down the stairs and told us to stop, why?

It was then that we decided to give the chicken a bash, so we woofed our tail off until OTL came down to see what we wanted!

That was rather good and Holly told me that the chicken we have has lots of stuff left over after our bits are taken away, there is loads of skin and bones and all manner of  chicken stuff left over and that The Missus then boils it all down and makes a 'Chicken Stock' out of it and afterwards uses the stock to make the home made soup that OTL loves!

It makes a change, normally it is us woofers who get the left overs!

This morning OTL got us up early again and off we went down the beach. Now, OTL never seems to want to just take a photo of wot is there in front of him and make it look 'Natural'. You know, splishy splashy waves for instance. TM wants to see the drops of water frozen and in mid air while OTL wants a slow shutter speed so that the waves look all misty and ethereal looking.

This morning the water was rather calm and the sky was rather dark, no sign of a sunrise.

So.

There was OTL resting the camera on the Sea Wall and clicking away using different settings but it was all done without any torch, so he couldn't see any of the dials on the camera!

It was a case of Fiddly Fiddly until he got what he wanted and then wait until he gets home to see what the computer says the settings were!

Just in case you were wondering......1/8/sec at F/5.6 ISO6400
There you go, mind you, we think the colours are OK!

See you tomorrow when it's back to Doggy Scoff!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

Is it a Plane or Venus?

Yo Ho Woofers!

Us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

Now then, pay attention we got a puzzle for you!

There we wuz, out walking in the dark with Old Two Legs this morning and he was showing off about a tiny spec of light in the sky.

'There', he says, 'is Venus!'

'It's called the Morning Star if you see it in the morning and the Evening Star if you see it in the evening!'

Holly asks, 'Wot about that star then, wots that called?'

Dunno says OTL, but it's moving.

'Might be a 'OOFO' says Holly who is into that sort of stuff!

What do you reckon?

Well?
 OK, what about this then?

............................or maybe?
OK, I'll put you out of your misery, so stop screwing your eyes up!

He went all zoomy, zoomy with the camera!
 So therefore.......................

Now is it a Boeing747 or a Fokker Friendship?
So as you don't get upset about not seeing the Sheerness Stars...............!

Just look at all those 'Stars'!

Look like Glow Worms to me!
Today it was rather warm at lunchtime so OTL brought May and Eric along for a run.

It took Eric a little while to get going but once he got moving he was OK.

Because May runs a bit faster than Eric, she was telling him that there were Nargles and Wild Woofers and Snakes in the grass ahead!

'Quick Eric, look at this snake!'
Of course there were no snakes, it was too early and too cold for snakes but Eric is easily scared!

That's how he got his nick name...........'Eric the Fearless'!

I don't like snakes!
Holly and I had some fun, we told the ferrets there were some rabbits in the bushes and if they came our way we could eat them but if they came towards the ferrets, they would have to fight them!

 Are you ready?
Holly and I did some very big woofs and pretended we were fighting rabbits in the grass. May was shouting for us to send one down to her but Eric was very quiet and kept behind May!

Eric the Fearless strikes again!

As soon as we got to the football field both Eric and May headed off towards the car at a gallop!

Do you think those rabbits are behind us?
May called Eric a wimp and told him there were no rabbits, just a big Dog Fox.

Eric got to the car first!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

Wednesday, 24 January 2018

It's still January!

Hi Woofers!

Here we are again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

It seems that those Two Legs just don't really understand us woofers, wot a terrible thing to have your treasure whipped away just as you are getting used to hiding under your tongue!

Holly finds treasures, mostly my Bonio bones or my teeth cleaning chews!

I find treasures but they are normally pinched by the ferrets 'cos they love squeaky balls!

Now, the ferrets are little tea leaves for treasures, Freddy pinches Old Two Legs socks while Eric has got a thing about his 'Squeakies' but his big thing is wot The Missus calls her 'Smoothies' which are sponge things that look like tear drops, he nicks them and buries them in his special hiding places!

Miss May loves the 'Brambles Biscuits' which are really dog biscuits but she pinches them and hides them in the sofa!

Now Miss Wendy is a terror! She pinches OTL's socks and has been known to pinch The Missuses knickers off the clothes horse!

OTL says all us are little horrors, yeah!

We were out first thing this morning but there was no super sunrise, just the lights of Sheerness!

Well, the sun will come up, honest!
Back home it was a chance for a snooze while the ferrets caused all manner of trouble around the house while OTL did his 'Poo Shovelling'!

He gets all the good jobs!

Lunchtime down on the Sea Front we noticed that the tide was out and I suggested that Holly and I have a paddle in the mud!

If you want to go dancing in the mud, you are on your own!
Looking over towards Southend we found it has disappeared!

There is was.....Gone!
Back home we spotted a Sparrow Hawk in the bushes in the garden, we think he was looking for a Sparrow Lunch!

Here, Here, Little Sparrow!
Eric decided to come out for a slurp and afterwards, climbed onto OTL's arm, gave him a cuddle, licked his nose and fell asleep!

I just love this stuff!
We will be glad when the weather starts to get better, I reckon once January is out of the way we will see some more of the sun, claws crossed!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

Tuesday, 23 January 2018

Warm today!

Hi Woofers!

We are back again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

I tell you, down here we are missing out of the dramatic stuff like snow drifts, freezing fog and other stuff. All we can do is walk through the puddles and jump in the muddy bits!

We were out early this morning and were charging up and down the beach while Old Two Legs was clicking away, as normal!

........and the sun hasn't even got up yet!
One of the things about sun rises and sun sets is the light keeps moving and one moment it is all grey then suddenly it changes!

Sometimes when we are on holiday OTL will spot a good scene and then plan a shot and he will then sit there for ages waiting for the light.

Only occasionally it all comes together but mostly you can sit there waiting until your tail drops off!

The time between both of these photos was about three minutes but you can see the difference!

.....and the sun still hasn't got up!
Lunchtime we took Freddy and Wendy down to the beach and OTL used the squeaky ball again! Freddy was a little reluctant to waddle after OTL but a couple of squeaks of the ball and he was off!

We met up with 'Prince', the woofer who got lost a little while ago. His Two Legs decided to walk with OTL so Freddy and Wendy had to be picked up and carried.

Not that Freddy was complaining!

When we got to the football field, they said goodbye to Prince and enjoyed  a dig at the mole hills and a good ferret in the grass!

Back home again and it was time for some late lunch, chicken!

There was a lovely bowl of chicken waiting for us and afterwards, a snooze under OTL's desk!

We can sniff curry, so we know what OTL has for dinner tonight and of course we look forward to a nibble of Nan Bread dipped in the gravy!

Yum! Yum!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

Eric and The Squeaky!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret here!

Now, yesterday it snowed but we forgot to show you how bad the blizzard was. Old Two Legs said it was too bad to go out, so he took a picture of the computer screen that is connected to a camera!

Will we need snow shoes?
This morning it was dark and the sky was all dark and the sunrise just didn't happen! Mind you, I had a bit of luck, we found a ball, a brand new yellow tennis ball!

Mine, All Mine!
OTL would kick it and I chased it and when I lost it OTL found it and hid it in the car!

Of course, I found it 'cos of the sniff, I mean, you just couldn't miss the sniff, well unless you are OTL!

It was rather warmer than yesterday and there was nothing about rain in the forecast so at lunchtime Eric and May came out with us.

Eric, like Freddy is not really into this walking lark but today he got a surprise, OTL had brought along one of his squeaky balls!

So, when Eric look like slowing down, we would get a squeak and off he would go chasing OTL along the beach!

Who's got me Squeaky?
Miss May has got a thing about rolling in a good sniff on the beach and some times OTL has to drag her off the sea weed!

I've really missed this!
I decided that I would leave the ball on the beach and to make sure no one pinched it I decided to bury it!

Must get deeper!
Unfortunately, Holly doesn't share my love of ball hiding, she did at least sit down and wait for me.

For Gawd's sake, how much longer?
Of course, back home Eric and May were asleep in no time! You can tell they missed there walk on the beach. Tomorrow it will be Freddy and Wendy's time for a run, providing it's warm and not raining!

By the way, we have been informed that yesterday we got Boo's puppies name wrong! They are not called Wee and Poo!

They are called Sooty and Sweep!

Holly says that she still prefers Poo and Wee!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

Snow, Rain and Sleet!

Hi Woofers!

Here we are again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret here again!

At last, we got some snow today, not a lot and it didn't settle and it was mostly just wet and cold, however, it snowed!

First thing this morning there was no sign of any thing wet, in fact it was rather dry and we could see some red in the sky underneath all the clouds.

A 'Morning Glow'!
Holly and I were chasing up and down the beach while Old Two Legs was watching the sky and saying that there was going to be a 'Magnificiant Sunrise', if we were lucky!

Now, not that we didn't believe him but as young Miss May says, 'Red sky in the Dawning, Ferrets take Warning'!

Then it happened, pow! The whole sky turned red, except for the grey and black bits!

Getting all warmed up!
The best bit was when the sky looked like it was about to burst into flames!

We all stood there going WOW!

WOW!
Then, suddenly, it all went out, like you had turned the lights out, it was all back to being cold , grey and black!

Back home it was the normal business, OTL shovelling Ferret Poo while the ferrets robbed him of slurps of Ferretone!

Eric was trying all sorts of tricks to get more Ferretone. After slurping the cap dry, he left the bottle and ran over to OTL and started licking his fingers. If that didn't work he would climb into OTL's arm and roll onto his back then as OTL put his nose close, Eric would start licking for all he was worth! OTL would end up with a Ferret Licked Nose, Chin, Cheek and Forehead!

Then Eric got some Ferretone!

That was hard work and my tongue is almost worn out!
Now, you remember little Boo, she had some puppies who are now seven weeks old and their Two Legs took some photo's of them with their mum!

Boo with her babies!
OK, all together .........................Aaaaaaaaaaah!

Mummy and puppies are doing well and Holly Chops has given them names......let me introduce you to...........

Wee and Poo!
Holly reckons that our ferrets are bigger than them, mind you, the ferrets don't woof like wot they do!

Good to see that Izzy and The Mob have survived the snow, lets hope they survive the cold after having their hair cut!

It won't be long before Spring is here with a bang!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

Rain or Snow?

Hello Woofers!

Here we are again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

Well, as far as the weather goes today, we have seen better!

We were up early again to beat the rain that was promised by the weather man and we managed to get around before it started.

We don't need a flash light, we got noses!
I don't know why he uses that flash thing every morning, the pictures are a load of rubbish really!

I prefer it when the sun makes the sky all coloured and we get twinkly lights from Southend or Sheerness!

The Missus has been up at the village hall having their Christmas Party, yes, I know it's half way through January but they are a funny lot at the best of times!

We were going to take Fred and Wendy up to the hall to meet Rosie but she wasn't there so Freddy showed off went to bed early!

Lunchtime came and back down the beach again it was holding off the heavy rain, you know, the stuff that runs down under your collar or under your tail!

It's then that you have difficulty in deciding whether you would rather have some snow!

At least the snow doesn't run under your tail!

Come on, hurry up before the real stuff starts!
Now down this end of the world there are some Two Legs who do the most daft things, like the two who were trying to teach worms to swim, in the rain and the wind!

Holly said that worms don't normally swim but when they do it is The Crawl!

Can worms do the Brest Stroke?
We left them to it and headed back home, just in time 'cos down came the rain again!

The afternoon was spent relaxing on the sofa watching the Britannia series on the TV. We have to watch it when TM is out cos there is loads of swearing and sword fights!

I think the rain is going to hang about for tomorrow so I can see that we will be having 'Speed Wee's' just like today!

Roll on Spring, I want to go swimming again!

See you all tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.
