Getting Sorted!

Hi Woofers!

It's Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret again!

We arrived home late on Monday and emptied most of the caravan stuff onto the lounge floor to get sorted into piles. There was the 'Washing' pile and the 'Store it away' pile and the 'Shed' pile and not forgetting the 'Toy' pile! The 'Toy' pile is the best fun, Holly and I get the balls and squeaky toys out and scatter them across the floor. After the morning walk we go up to bed and it is the ferrets turn, Eric and May. They both gather the toys up and hide them in one of the bags, all neat and tidy like.

After they have had a game and been put back in the cage, out comes Monty and Wendy who proceed to get all the toys out and hide them under the furniture and sofa and Old Two Legs chair!

Then, just to make sure, they hide the bags in amongst the craft stuff in The Missuses work shop!

You know, it's fun going away on holidays but we have decided we are glad to be home! I mean, while we were away we didn't see any ships cross our horizon, just the odd yacht parked up in the bay, not like the ships that cross our horizon!

Ahoy There Sailor Men!
Although we had sunny days we got more cloud than we do at home!

Hey! You! Clear Off Cloud!
And another thing, there were not so many flowers at the back of the beach as we have home here!

Dunno what it's called but it looks nice!
Insect life was a little sparse, providing you ignore the midges! Down here we get a wide range, even if they are small!

Didn't see any Ladybirds up there!
One thing we do have up there is loads of Rotting Nelly Fish but at home we get all manner of stuff coming down the Thames and The River Medway but we have never seen a Nelly Fish on the beach!

You can sniff it from miles away!
Another thing we missed, Dragonflies, we didn't see one up there but we can almost guarantee to see one down here!

Where you been Mates?
Old Two Legs has been Manufacturing over the last two days and poor old duffer is all worn out!

We're looking forward to the weekend, it's the Kent County Show and we got Alun and Glynis visiting over the weekend, so, loads of nibbles and vast amounts of giggle juice as well!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

Homward Bound

Hello Woofers!

McDaisy, McHolly, MacMay, MacWendy, Eric McFerret and Monty MacFerret and we are on our way home!

After a wet start this morning we drove through the rains up through the Mull of Kintyre and across to Loch Lomond then down towards Glasgow and off to Gretna.

Old Two Legs was very kind and stopped a couple of times for us woofers to have wee! Mind you, The Missus says that it was good for us to have a wee but it gave her time to have a wee in the caravan!

Well, she isn't going to hide behind the bushes is she!

We got into Gretna just after lunch and after parking the caravan OTL and TM headed off to the Designer Centre so spend what is left of their holiday money!

I mean, you would think they could have bought us a prezzie or six?

Yeah, six, four ferrets and two woofers! after that there will be the big pile of stuff that OTL

Tomorrow is the long journey but we will be home mid to late afternoon so you won't get any news from us 'cos we will have to unload the caravan and start getting all the stuff sorted that has come in over the last two weeks!

Some things never change but we will be back in September for another two weeks!

See you soon.

Luv,

McDaisy, McHolly, MacMay, MacWendy, Eric McFerret and Monty MacFerret!

Us Again!

Hello Woofers!

McDaisy, McHolly, MacMay, MacWendy, Eric McFerret and Monty MacFerret here!

Well, yesterday was the warmest it has been for years and years and years. So, being expert in these matters, we headed for a shady spot and stuck our paws in the air and went back to sleep!

Wake me when it rains!
I did manage to get a swim in to cool me down but to be honest, it was still as hot as when we first got into the water!

Even my tail got wet!

We found one of those Nelly Fish on the beach and to give you an idea of the size, Old Two Legs put the ball thrower on the ground next to the Nelly Fish!

One mighty big Nelly Fish!
We tried to wind up OTL by telling him we found a very unusual fish on the beach! I mean, it is shaped like a fish and has an eye like a fish but seems to be missing it's fins!

OTL had a look and in the end said it looked more like a leaf!

An ancient fish?
It was so hot that even The Missus came out for a walk in the sea. Well, she kept her shoes on and at one point was thinking of putting her wellies on!

Go On, put your wellies on, we haven't had a good laugh for ages!
Today it has been totally different, clouds, rain, thunder and more rain!

Even Holly had the shakes when the thunder went off but a cuddle with OTL got rid of them!

What happened to the sun shine and blue sky?
Today we have spent getting the awning down and all the stuff packed away ready for the trip to Gretna for the first part of the return trip home!

Mind you, we will be having King Plawns and Plawn Clackers and a Bottle of Bubbly, well they can have the bubbly and Holly and I will stick to the Plawn Clackers!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

McDaisy, McHolly, MacMay, MacWendy, Eric McFerret and Monty MacFerret!

More fun and games!

Hello Woofers!

McDaisy, McHolly, MacMay, MacWendy, Eric McFerret and Monty MacFerret here again!

Last night Old Two Legs decided he would stay up and see if he can photograph the Milky Way. The area we are in is supposed to be goof for viewing the Milky Way, providing you have the conditions.

Well, he sat up until one in the morning and waited but as the stars started to appear, the heat haze settled in and there was little to see, so he went to bed, disturbing everyone in the caravan with all his clumping about!

The other lights are two boats (left) lighthouse and house on land!
Today has been great, the sun has been burning down and Holly and I have been in and out of the river and sea all day!

This is us in the river.

And Holly has even got her paws wet almost up to her tum!
Holly enjoyed walking up and down the riverside but didn't get a run on, more of a splosh and a paddle!

This is OK providing I don't walk too fast!
Me, on the other paw was straight into the river chasing a stick all the way over the other side and swimming back with it!

Look! I'm wet all the way from my nose to the tip of my tail!
Of course, one of the benefits of having a beach to hand is that I can have a really good roll in the sand to dry off!

This is GoooooooooooD!
This afternoon we headed back down to the sea for another dip and spotted this Two Legs who was all on his own not only in the sea but on the beach as well, well, until we got onto the beach as well!

All on his own having a paddle!
Holly said he was having a walk in the water just to kick the sand up but I reckon he was just lost!

Is he doing a wee in the sea?
Back at the caravan OTL decided to catch up on the magazines he has yet to read but it wasn't long before he fell asleep and needed to be woken up again!
You have to keep these TL on their toes!

Hey! Those of you who know Chris and her daughter Caz will be pleased to know that Caz has had her operations and the hospital is pleased with her progress and all looks good for the future!

Keep yer tail up Caz Babe, we are all thinking of you and Chrissie Babe!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

McDaisy, McHolly, MacMay, MacWendy, Eric McFerret and Monty MacFerret!

Doing some serious relaxing!

Hello Woofers!

Back we comes again, McDaisy, McHolly, MacMay, MacWendy, Eric McFerret and Monty MacFerret!

Archie Babe you are the limit!

Mind you, we did snaffle some sausages last night, The Missus opened up a pack of skinny looking sausages and divided them up between her and Old Two Legs but in the end she couldn't finish them all so Holly and I helped her!

OTL finished all of his so we missed out on a 'Sausage Snaffle' like wot you didn't!

Today has been another 'Doggy Day' cos as soon as OTL finished his chores we got him back down onto the beach with the ball and throwing stick and I was in and out of the water getting soaked to the skin.

After the fun with the ball and the wet stuff, I had a great time rolling in the sand and digging big hole into which I tried to bury the ball.

Holly helped by digging another hole, using her nose, and we buried the ball again then headed off for a good roll in the sand again!

When we got back to the caravan OTL dried us down with our Doggy Towel and all the time OTL was calling us names like, 'Soggy Doggies' and 'Smelly Wet Woofers'!

We didn't care!

After a dry down we then got brushed with our 'Doggy Brush' to help get rid of all the sand but it didn't work, we still had wet sand stuck to our tummy and legs!

It was only after a quick roast in the sun that we dried off enough to get this picture of me and OTL.

I'm shaking the sand over OTL and he is trying to throw me off his lap!

OK, me Tails is dry and my Tum's dry and My Butt is dry, can we do that all again.........Now!
OTL took us out again and we managed to get another  swim with some sand thrown in as well!

More 'Soggy Doggies' coming up!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

McDaisy, McHolly, MacMay, MacWendy, Eric McFerret and Monty MacFerret!

It's OTL's Fault!

Hi Woofers!

We're back! McDaisy, McHolly, MacMay, MacWendy, Eric McFerret and Monty MacFerret!

Now, sorry about yesterday, it was OTL playing silly wottsits and watching a DVD until it was just too late to get the computer out! Mind you, it was a lazy sort of day, snoozing and snoozing again!

Now, today is different, after doing all his chores what did he do? Gathered up his camera gear and headed off to the Mull Of Kintyre to photograph landscapes and the Ailsa Craig rock! Mull of Kintyre is supposed to be the furthest south you can get.

Well, he got there and on the way saw Buzzards and loads of 'Little Brown Stuff' but when he got to the end of the road there was a sign!

OK, get out of the car and walk!
Now that bit of stuff in the distance is Northern Ireland. OTL took another shot slightly to the left.

Well, he got as far as the bend and climbed back up, but there is Northern Ireland and no Back Stop!
Off he went again and found a super spot that shows Ailsa Craig in beautiful colour.

Well, if the mist wasn't there we'd be able to see it!!
Not to be beaten, OTL headed off up the coast a bit and came across the seals basking on the rocks. He is not a seal person so couldn't say if they were Grey Seals or Harbour Seals, however, he did say they reminded him of TM!

It won't be long before they get washed off the rocks!
After they floated away, OTL was keeping an eye open for otters and he spotted a flurry of activity, so, quick as a Ferret, he snapped off a couple of shots but when we opened them up on the computer they turned out to be seals!

It's OK, I've left my Factor 38 on the rocks!
Now what happens when the tide comes in is it drives the wild life closer to the shore and this Grey Heron flew in and perched on the rocks for a while before deciding there was no food and he'd better try further on down the beach!

A nice big fat juicy frog would go down a treat!
So, after all this charging around the Mull of Kintyre he arrived back at the caravan to a 'Big Woofer Welcome' followed by four trips down to the beach, one with Eric de Ferret and one with Monty and Wendy, then Miss May had a little run followed by Holly and I who sneaked out of the caravan when TM wasn't looking and chased after OTL!

So, not a bad day and it has been sunny for most of the day but the mist and low cloud helped keep the temperature down a little.

See you all tomorrow.

Luv,

McDaisy, McHolly, MacMay, MacWendy, Eric McFerret and Monty MacFerret!

Another Hard Day!

Hi Woofers!

Us again, McDaisy, McHolly, MacMay, MacWendy, Eric McFerret and Monty MacFerret!

You know this holiday lark is such an effort! I mean what is a woofer to do when after a hard run up and down the beach only to find your paws feel like they're on fire?

That's Better!
Mind you, Holly Chops has the same problem but with a different solution, damp sand!

Cool damp sand and a few wormies casts to tread on!
Well, that Holly has always been sneaky!

We took Old Two Legs off to the far end of the beach where there were some rocks he could sit on and have a rest, stretch his arms and just enjoy the peace and quiet.

A Peaceful view of our very own beach!
Well, that was the idea but all of a sudden there was this thumping sound and a load of Two Legs came stomping past, puffing and blowing and sweat dripping off their noses! I mean, they weren't chasing and rabbits, none of them had a woofer on a lead for a 'Fast Walk'!

I mean, they had all gone potty!

The one in yellow stroked the ferrets this morning and she didn't seem potty then!
Over the next fifteen minutes a load more came plonking by. Some seemed to be enjoying the run while others looked as though they were going to explode! There was one TL who got as far as the stream and knelt down and shoved his head in the water! I mean, there is a limit to this running thing!

Just too many messing up our sand holes!
When we got back we found The Missus had got out all her three and a half ton of glue, glitter, paint and stuff and was working on The Journal project which is the next project up at the Village Hall!

We thought she said that she would be working on two projects, if so, why is there so much stuff!
All the ferrets went out for a run today and enjoyed themselves in and amongst the grass, plus, Eric found some rat holes he wanted to investigate but OTL was afraid he might get lost!

The afternoon was spent snoozing and watching the F1 racing, well most of the race. OTL had problems with his phone, the broadcaster kept telling OTL his subscription had run out!

You know, these TL's can get right upset when they find an electric gizmo won't work and OTL is no different!

He does so rant and rave!

In the end he sorted it out but by then he had missed the start of the race which is always exciting to watch!

Right, we are off to make a nest out the bed, just like Archie Babe, but the ferrets love making a bed out of the bathroom mat, well, ferrets have always been a bit strange!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

McDaisy, McHolly, MacMay, MacWendy, Eric McFerret and Monty MacFerret!

Busy Doing Nothing!

Hi Woofers!

Back again, McDaisy, McHolly, MacMay, MacWendy, Eric McFerret and Monty MacFerret!

Well, we have had a really lazy day today. The Missus was planning to do some crafting and Old Two Legs planned to head off to do some exploring along the coast a bit but due to them both suffering from Summer Colds they changed their mind and just slobbed around the caravan looking like a right pair of old fogeys!

I mean, such a fuss over a couple of colds, a right pair of Snott & Grott!

Holly and I got our run along the beach  and Holly spotted an island in the mist and asked OTL what it was 'cos it looked just like one of the OTL Bobble Hat!

OK OTL, wot is it?
To be honest, we knew it would be a long and boring answer to Holly's question! So, off he went with a tale that lasted almost half way along the beach. Ailsa Craig is formed from a volcanic plug from a long extinct volcano believed to be over 500 million years old. It is an archetypal island mountain; Blah, Blah, Blah, and on and on and on!

I was more interested in the little bird that chased us up the beach, I knew what it was, a Ringed Plover, but I wasn't going to ask OTL, I mean, I just didn't have the time to wait for the answer!

Well, I'm a Ringed Plover and my tale is very interesting 'cos..............Oh Gawd, an OTL Birdy!
Today we went right down the other end of the beach and had to cross a stream to get back onto dry land again. Now, for OTL and I, no problem, a quick jump and a splash and we are across, Holly, on the other paw is a totally different woofer.

Holly is as bad as Archie Babe, she doesn't do wet!

Oi! This is water and it's WET!
Lucky for Holly Chops, it wasn't too deep and with a couple of quick sploshes she was across so we could go Rock Pooling to see what we could find amongst the rocks!

Look wot we found!............Sea Weed!
Back at the caravan OTL finished his chores and decided to have a rest, however, tomorrow he plans to go exploring, unless it is raining!

See you tomorrow and don't forget, F1 Racing at 14:05hr!

McDaisy, McHolly, MacMay, MacWendy, Eric McFerret and Monty MacFerret!

Sun Shine and a Lost Ball!

Hi Woofers!

We are back again, McDaisy, McHolly, MacMay, MacWendy, Eric McFerret and Monty MacFerret!

Now us woofers are good at getting our own way, I mean, we just have to look at our Two Legs and give them 'The Look' coupled with a little Mental Telepathy and Boom, it's done!

For instance.

Now, pay attention, I'll woof this only once!
I'm quite good at doing the 'Look' and Holly just has to roll her eyes and it's sorted!

Look into my eyes........Look into my eyes!
When Holly does 'The Look' it is normally something to do with food but with me it is 'Walkies'

Me on our crowded beach!
One good thing about our beach is that there is a lot of sea before it gets deep and I have to go out a long way before I loose the sandy bottom!

OK, Throw the ball.......I said Throw The Woofing Ball!
Now, we had great fun throwing the ball and me chasing it but we got into trouble when my paws couldn't find the bottom and I need the bottom to push against the ball 'cos my mouth isn't big enough to get the ball in.

Well, you know what happens, Old Two Legs throws the ball too far, I can't pick it up, my paws are off the bottom and the ball floats off into the sunset!

Anyone seen my ball?
One thing we did see this afternoon, a Nelly Fish but it's paws were on the bottom of the sea, so it was stuck and we don't think it will swim away 'cos the sea was going out rather than coming in!

A grounded Nelly Fish!
Now, I bet you didn't know but today is the longest of the year. We didn't get up early to see the sunrise 'cos there were no stone markers to mark the suns progress around the sky. It seem that there are some cairns around here but no stones, funny that!

As OTL says, 'There's Rockall Here'!

He is such a wag!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

McDaisy, McHolly, MacMay, MacWendy, Eric McFerret and Monty MacFerret!

Today we are getting the Camp Site in order!

Hi Woofers!

McDaisy, McHolly, MacMay, MacWendy, Eric McFerret and Monty Mac Ferret here in rainy/sunny Scotland!

Well, there are some Two Legs in this world don't appreciate a woofer with Green Claws! I mean, there he was, helping out with his vast experience and making sure the planty things don't get into trouble and wot thanks does he get?

If it was me, I'd wee over the strawberries just when they get ripe!

Here in sunny Scotland we have been introducing ourselves to the local woofers by threatening them with a Southern Woofer Welcome if the disturb our holiday and the other woofers on site also get a warning if the pass our caravan too closely when they are heading off for a wee!

I've spotted a couple of rabbits and chased after them through the camp site until they disappeared into the brambles!

That's them sorted!

We were up bright and early this morning, mainly because the ferrets snoring woke us up!

Our next job was to wake The Missus to give us our morning walk in the Scottish Sunshine!

A Warm and Sunny Scottish Morning!
It wasn't too long before the sun shone through the rain and a super Rainbow appeared just behind the camp site!
We couldn't find the pot of gold!
The instructions for parking the caravan and car plus on which side to have the awning are strictly enforced. OTL had trouble parking the caravan 'cos there was a fire extinguisher in the way, however, OTL came up with the answer, he moved the marker post to the middle of the caravan!

All parked up proper like and TM is about to hang the curtains!
While OTL cleans the cages, the ferrets get the run of the caravan and Miss May has her medicine and stuff. After that she has her run around and even chases Eric under the door and into the loo!

Good gun especially when TM is using it!

OK, I'm coming, ready or not!
When Wendy and Monty were let out there was chasing and rampaging all over the place!

A bit of a blurred shot but it was without flash and inside the van!
Once the van was sorted and the ferrets returned to their cages, Holly and I headed for the beach again. The sky looked like it was going to brighten up but half way through the walk we had to head back to the van again, too much rain!

Yep! Here it comes again!
TM has started on the first of her two 'Projects' and OTL was commanded to help her take all the stuff she needed out of the caravan and into the awning.

There was loads of stuff, I mean OTL's arms were aching bu the time he finished, and he has to take it all back tonight!

OTL reckons he may be lucky and get the moth trap out over the weekend, that should be fun, Highland Hawk Moths!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

McDaisy, McHolly, MacMay, MacWendy, Eric McFerret and Monty Mac Ferret!
