We Get There, sort off!

Hello Woofers!

Here we are again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

Well, after all the plans and plots and floods and stuff, today there was nothing stopping us heading off to Corfe Castle for a visit.

Except............................!

Well, first Old Two Legs had to clean out all the cages, walk the ferrets, talk to a couple who had heard we had ferrets in the caravan and answer all the normal questions regarding ferrets and their habits!

Holly said we should tell them that ferrets smell and will bite your paw if you put it anywhere near their nose!

Miss May said she would tell everyone about Holly's habit of polluting the air with her 'Butt Trumpets'!

Finally when they had all gone we headed out to the car.

On the way we came across The Missus looking a little upset, you see she had sat down on the wooden chair in the awning to do some crafty stuff and the chair sort of, 'Fell Apart'!.

This is the second chair she has 'destroyed' and we are quickly running out of awning furniture!

OTL decided to get going before he ended up doing a 'Repair Job' that might involve him going to the Hardware Shop again!

No, he's not getting his tools out again, we're going out!
We got going and left TM grumbling about having to move all her stuff inside the caravan!

Corfe Castle isn't too far away and OTL found a car park who were only charging £3.10 an hour!

Cheek!

We looked over the wall and spotted the castle. Holly said it didn't look too impressive 'cos half of it was missing!

Not a lot left!
We thought it may be more interesting close up so we headed around to the entrance where we came upon two signs.

One was the price list £9 per visit!

Nine pounds to see a pile of old bricks?

The second notice was.....................................NO DOGS!

Nine Quid and no dogs? You know what you can do with that!
We decided to have a wander around the village and see what we could see. As we were walking down the high street, I suddenly had need of a poo, so I did one in the middle of the road and held up all the traffic while OTL picked it all up!

Just around the corner looks like a good place for a poo!
OTL suggested that we head back and go for a run on Kimmeridge Beach. You bet! One of the best bits was we didn't have to pay for car parking again!

OTL liked that!

Holly Chops getting her paws wet!
We were allowed off the lead and I found a bit of wood that OTL tossed into the water for me to play 'Chase the Stick'!

It was great fun jumping in off the rocks!

Periscope Up!
Back at the caravan we both got a good rub down with the Doggy Towel and a brush to get rid of the sand where Holly and I had a roll on the beach!

Tonight we are off to get a Chinese Take Away with Plawns and Plawn Clackers!

Yum! Yum!

Hey, Archie Babe, say Hello to Millie for us!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

It's Corfe Castle tomorrow, on account of the Deluge!

Hi Woofers!

Us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

Now, you know we were going to see Corfe Castle today? Well, we nearly got there!

You see it all started off this morning as Old Two Legs, Holly and I hadn't got up yet and were looking on the Internetty Thing Googling Corfe Castle and looking at all the pictures of the place.

The Missus sort of marched down the caravan heading for the bathroom, loo and shower.

She came flying out of the bathroom saying it was 'Flooded with Water'! Then she went on about the end of the world and plagues of locust and frogs and a wet carpet!

We weren't too sure what was troubling her more, the frogs or the flood or the wet carpet!

This caravan of ours has a thing about water, if it's not the pump then it's a leak in the system somewhere!

OTL got up, had a wash, in cold water, 'cos TM had forgotten to switch the water heater on!

OTL was not happy!

He doesn't do cold water, especially first thing in the morning!

So, armed with his trusty head torch strapped to his bald spot he dives under the bed and starts to investigate.

Dry floor under the kitchen sink, so, no problems there.

Dry floor around the water pump, no problems there either.

Wet floor around the water tank! Here be the problem!

Well, it seems that there is a leak in the elbow joint where the water comes into the water tank and the leak is only noticeable when the tank is full to the top, like wot it was last night!

So, drip by drip the water found its way out of the tank, and, because the caravan has a slight tilt backwards 'cos we are parked on the side of a mountain, all the water headed back to the bathroom!

This is where TM comes into the picture with the notification that we were 'Flooded with Water'!

So, the bed was stripped of its mattress and stuff so OTL could get under the bed to sort out the leak and after one or two goes decided in the end he had to get some special sealant from the man in the hardware shop in town!

When he got back to the caravan he crawled back under the bed and started slapping the sealant where sealant needed to be slapped and made it look so professional!

Danger! OTL at work!
Tomorrow we plan to visit Corfe Castle, unless the caravan gets struck by lightening or is buried under a ton of locust eating frogs!

You never know, anything can happen down here!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

The Great Escape!

Hi Fans!

It's Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret again!

Well, let's say, we have had better days! I mean, it has been raining on and off since last night which has mucked up our plans to go castle hunting!

We spent most of the morning cleaning cages or snoozing. Well, Old Two Legs did the cleaning and Holly and I did the snoozing!

Then it was time to head off to town to do some shopping and buy a tank full of diesel for the car and some bottles of giggle juice for The Missus and OTL!

While we sat waiting for OTL to finish filling the car, TM suddenly asked, 'OK, Who did that?'

Did wot?

Come on she says, who did it?

Wot?

By then OTL had got back in the car and TM tells him that one of us had let one go and the car was smelling terrible!

Now, OTL's sniffer isn't up to much due to an accident he had with a garage door when he was two years old and unless it is a really powerful sniff, most sniffs just pass him by, including when TM goes on about 'Someone' letting one off!

Now, so as not to upset TM he looks at us both and says, 'OK, Paws Up, who did it?'

Neither Holly or I put our paws up, so, according to our reckoning, there is only one left in the car who it could be!

Say no more!

Back home in the caravan we all settled down to some lunch followed by a snooze and a read of a book and another snooze until it was time to bring the ferrets in from the awning. They have great fun watching the two legs go by and enjoy a sniff of the wild things in the hedgerows!

Now, late this afternoon the rain stopped and Holly and I got another walk in the field where we chased a pheasant or two, however, because we were both on our lead, we had no chance of grabbing one. That means they were laughing their tail feathers off and scuttling off a few yards ahead of us!

Back in the caravan, OTL was answering some emails from customers and I was resting on some cushions by an open window.

As I was sort of half asleep, I half noticed one of these stupid birds walk past the front of the caravan.

That was it, I was out of the window and steaming down the hill after this miniature turkey!

Funny thing was, OTL or TM didn't know I had gone!

It couldn't last forever and OTL says to TM, 'Where's Daisy?'

Dunno, came the answer and after a quick check around the caravan, OTL sets off down the camp site checking the other caravans and awnings for a small, perfectly formed woofer with naughtiness on her mind!

It took a good while before TM found me, sitting by the gate waiting to be let back into the caravan site from the field we normally walk around!

I mean, if it were me, that would have been the first place I would have looked!

So, that's it, I'm back, in trouble and on top of that, OTL has shut the window!

Tomorrow it's That Castle!

Promise!

Bye bye for now.

Luv,

We get into trouble, a little bit!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret returning again!

Well, this morning we rolled out of bed and headed off for a walk across the fields and for the first time this holiday the grass wasn't soaking wet! Normally we end up with wet tummies and jump all over the caravan shaking the dew off but today, bone dry!

Now that is a good thing as far as the ferrets are concerned 'cos their tummies sort of drag half an inch off the ground and they get very wet! Today, bone dry, so that means more jumping and running in the grass!

After all the job have been done we loaded up the car with camera stuff, said good bye to The Missus, (who was inspired to make a card or two), and headed off to Corfe Castle a few miles down the road.

We arrived just as three coaches had off loaded thousands of Mini Two Legs, all clutching clip boards and bits of paper with questions on that they had to answer before they would be allowed back on the coach!

We looked at Old Two Legs and he looked at us, then we looked at the MTL's and then we looked at OTL again.

'Shall we leave this until another day?' says OTL, 'Yus Pleese' says us and after a quick discussion, we decided to go back to Kimmeridge Bay and hunt Dinosorearses and stuff like that!

Now, as we had paid before and 'cos we are camping in their caravan site, we only have to pay once and all future visits are free, up to when we go home.

OTL likes that, 'FREE'

This time we asked if we could be let off the lead 'cos we couldn't get into too much trouble on the beach, could we?

We were lucky 'cos the tide was on it's way out and more of the beach was exposed and that means more rocks were exposed that had all sorts of old and ancient things like Nautilus Fish and Trilobites and bits of shells could be seen in the rocks.

Here be Dino Prints!
OTL was getting all excited, the further the tide went out the more rocks were visible and the more lumps and bumps could be examined and names given, not that we really understood what he was talking about but we tried to look interested and amazed at his knowledge of rocks with bumps on them!

and this one is about a hundred and twenty million years old, give or take a year or two!
Now, these rocks had water at the edges and of course I decided that it would be a good idea if I had a little splosh, just to test the water, as it were!

This water just loves a good splosh!
You know, even Holly Chops went in for some deep paddling after OTL let us off our leads!

As we went around the bay, OTL taking photos and us hunting Dinos, OTL stopped at a small water fall and said it looked 'picturesque', what ever that is, I mean, we have only just got to terms with ethereal and now he lumps us with 'picturesque'!

Well, it looks like someone left the tap on!
We got a bit bored and headed off to the slipway where they launch to boats and of course, there were loads of sniffs we just couldn't stay away from, especially Holly Chops!

When OTL discovered we were nowhere to be seen, he left his camera all set up and chased after us!

It was a good job there was no one around to pinch his camera but us woofers would have seen them off if anyone got close to OTL's toys!

We then walked all the way around to the other end of the beach where there was a notice saying we couldn't go any further 'cos of the army firing range!

The weather man says we will get some rain tomorrow, so I can see a day spent snoozing, reading, card making and chasing ferrets around the caravan!

See you all tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

Being On Holiday is Hard Work!

Hello Woofers!

Here we are again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

Yesterday we were in 'Engineering Mode' 'cos The Missus has been 'Destruction Testing' the fold up table in the caravan and we can now say, without any doubt that, given the right number of whacks with the extra large container of 'Distress Ink', the table will fall off the table mount and come crashing to the floor!

So, yesterday it was 'Hunt the Screws' and stuff in the local town then back for some drilling and banging with hard object and mumbling of many curses!

I was doing the inspection job after the table was reinstalled!

OK, it passes the 'Shove Test' so we will give it a try!

Holly Chops was on 'Guard Duty' and after learning from Archie Babe on the best positions to take up when doing guard duty, she made a pretty good go of guarding the caravan!

I can be alert in an instance, trust me!
Today we decided that a trip to see the local sights was in order and set off for Durdle Door. We were expecting a castle thingy with a big wooden door but when we got there it was nothing but a lump of cliff with a hole in it!

Shut That Door!
It was a bit of a hike up and down the cliff to see that and to be honest, the ice cream cone that Holly and I shared tasted just great!

Next it was Lulworth Cove. Now this is a natural harbour that has been worn away by the tides and now looks like a super safe harbour with a very 'Touristy' village on the shore. Old Two Legs reckons the car park was almost as big as the village and judging by the cost of parking, it was more than likely the biggest money earner around!
Pretty village with the obligatory stream heading towards the bay!

Almost all the buildings were restaurants or gift shops!
Like Durdle Door, I got a swim in the warm water! Holly decided that she was better off sitting on the harbour wall with TM and trying to mug anyone who looked like they might have food!
Nothing like getting your paws wet!

On the way back to the car we stopped off at one of the restaurants and got some scampi and chips and a sausage.

The scampi was for TM & OTL and the sausage was for Holly and I but it was such a small sausage that after we had finished it, the scampi look just too delicious to leave un tasted!

Tomorrow OTL wants to visit Corfe Castle 'cos he hasn't been there for a thousand years!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

Well, we had plans!

Hello Woofers!

Here we are, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

Now, you know that yesterday we had loads of plans of what we were going to do today, Castles, Dino Poo, Photography and Nargle Chasing!

In the end we didn't!

It sort of started off this morning when Old Two Legs started cleaning the ferret cages.

We have a sort of Poo Problem, well, Eric and May have this problem really. You see, OTL cleans the cage out, washes all the parts that need to be washed, then he dries the cage, sprays Pet Disinfectant and lines the cage with soft paper kitchen towel to catch the poo and the wee.

After that the water gets changed in both dispensers, a dog bowl and one of those 'Drippy' water things you hang on the cage wall. Finally the food bowl is washed, dried and replenished with ferret food.

Now we are ready for the ferrets to go back in.

In goes Eric and May.

Eric heads for the three ply paper layers, digs furiously hurling lumps of paper all over the place and in the water bowl. Miss May jumps into the food bowl and throws the contents all over the place!

She then dives down onto where the paper was all neatly positioned on the floor, and does a poo!

Eric, from his vantage spot in the 'sleeping cup', says 'That's a good idea' and jumps down, lifts his tail and manages to poo up the cage wall! Next he turns around to have a sniff, just to make sure it was his, and then decides to finish it off with a wee up the other wall, missing all the torn up paper!

OTL is not a happy Two Legs!

So, the ferrets get put back into the caravan while OTL cleans the cage out, washes all the parts that need to be washed, then he dries the cage, sprays Pet Disinfectant and lines the cage with soft paper kitchen towel to catch the poo and the wee!

By the time all this is accomplished and the ferrets have been walked, it's lunch time and The Missus says there are some plawns and salad, so OTL decides he will go out later!

Half way through lunch the TV gets switched on 'cos it is the F1 Racing. So, we all sit down to watch the fun and games while at the same time trying to snaffle a plawn or two!

It was a super race, loads of excitement!

After that it was time for a walk, so we got OTL to take us around the field so we could chase a pheasant or two, even though we were kept on leads!

Well, that took us around to just after four fifteen when I decided that I must do my blog!

So, no pictures today and no exciting tales for you, sorry!

Maybe tomorrow?

Bye, bye for now!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

A Little Damp between the Ears!

Yo Woofers!

It's us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

It has been a sort of fun type relaxing pheasant hunting wet day today!

Well there you are, a whole day in one line!

We went out with Old Two Legs and the ferrets first thing and coming around the corner of the field there were hundreds of pheasants mooching about in the long grass!

That was it, as soon as we poked our noses around the corner they all flew straight up in the air making the loudest noise we have heard for a long time!

The soppy birds landed a bit further up the path and continued to poke around in the grass as if we weren't there!

Mind you, they did leave one bird behind to keep an eye on us!

On Guard Duty!
After a while this bird got all worried and flew off leaving another bird there to keep a watchful eye on us!

I've got my eye on you, you, you, you and you!
After a little while Freddy decided that sniffs were more interesting than food that kept running away and he followed Wendy into the field a little to hunt slower prey!

OTL spotted a couple of Comma butterflies dancing around the bramble bushes and when they landed he managed to get this shot.

Smile for the camera!

Back at the caravan we all watched the F1 Practise and then the Qualifying, rather an exciting run up to the race tomorrow!

As soon as that finished Holly and I woofed our tails off to go out for another walk but half way around the field we saw a dark thing heading our way!

Looks like it could be wet!
Unfortunately we got wet, all sort of soggy doggy wet and the ferrets didn't get away with it either, Eric and May also got wet tails but they sneaked into OTL's jacket and managed to stay out of the deluge!

Holly and I headed home as quickly as we could and got a rub down with the doggy towels before heading for the soft cushions!

All I need now is some dinner followed by a snooze before bed time!
Tomorrow, if the rain stops, we plan to go back to Kimmeridge Bay to hunt for some more Dinosorearses and maybe find some rock hard Dino Poo!

Then, if they allow woofers, we want to get a look at Corfe Castle which looks like it is about to fall down!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

Dino Digging!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret back again!

Well, we've had a good day today, the ferrets have been around the field chasing the pheasants mind you, they had no chance of catching them 'cos they had Old Two Legs in tow on the other end of the lead!

Do get a move on OTL,
Mind you the pheasants didn't hang about!

Watch out, Ferret and Two Legs coming!
Once we had finished out in the field and the ferrets were tucked up in their cages eating breakfast, we headed off to hunt dinosorearses!

We arrived at Kimmeridge Bay where there have been some finds from 150 million years ago! Looking at the cliffs you could see the different layers of mud and shale.

Kimmeridge Cliffs
While we were down there we met up with a couple of woofers who were down for a days exploration. First there was a little ball of fun that went by the name of Millie a super little Yorkie of just five months old!

Are you a Dino?
Joining in the fun was Ted a very gentle Airedale Terrier down here on holiday, just like us!

Ted the Airedale Terrier.
Ted said Hello to OTL and got a tickle on the tail as well! Ted  said he was looking for some Dinosaurs foot prints in the rocks but so far all he has found was Dino Poo!

Now, when we looked at the dino poo it looked just like lumps of rock, I reckon you had to have a strong insides to do that!

Talk about Rock Hard!

I went off looking for for prints, it was a lot safer than dino poo!

No Dino Poo here!
OTL found the remains of some sea animals that had been around 150 million years and that seems a long time to sit in the rocks!

These are Ammonites.
From there we headed into Swanage to do some shopping ant The Missus purchased a pair of Green Wellies!

We lunched on some fish and chips, well, OTL also brought some sausages for us woofers and he even pinched one for himself!

Back home we had a lot to tell the ferrets all about especially the Dino Poo!

As we were telling the story the sun went down and the sky looked all 'Dramatic'!

OTL loves Dramatic!

Night Sky
Tomorrow TM is planning to do some more crafting and of course there is the F1 Racing from Singapore!

Brrrm Brrrrm!

Hey! we think that Archie Babe did the right thing of getting rid of the Parlour Pong, mud and green slime is just the thing!

See you tomorrow

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

A day of sunshine and rain!

Hello Woofers!

It's Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret again!

Well, last night it was a lot less noisy than the night before! We all got a good nights sleep, except when Old Two Legs was having a coughing fit!

Of course, then there was The Missus marching up and down the caravan going for a wee and getting all inspired and plonking about with jars of chemicals and bits of card and paper!

Today TM had told us all that today she would be 'Crafting' which normally means inky fingers and spots on the end of her nose that normally end up being a bright orange!

Just to help OTL, we were walked around the field by TM who didn't want us to hang about doing our business, so it was a case of a 'Three Legged Wee' on the run!

Then the sun came out and the ferrets decided they wanted to spend the day in the awning!

After getting all that sorted OTL clipped our lead onto me and collected Miss Wendy and Freddy and headed off around the field again!

We left Holly in the caravan 'cos she has got a grumbly tum and didn't need a second walk!

After getting back May and Eric were jumping up and down wanting to get out for their walk as well!

This was great, I got three walks around the field, loads of sniffs and I got to chase some of those daft pheasants!

Bozo Birds on the run!
Back at the caravan OTL has been checking the jacks on the caravan 'cos all this marching up and down by TM means the jacks keep settling further into the earth!

To give you an idea of what it is like, here is a van down the site a bit, you can see the problems we have 'cos our caravan is longer than this one!

Ours is about the same!
I think that if we come here again OTL will make sure he gets one of the flat pitches!

We were going to Monkey World but they don't let woofers in and won't allow any woofers to be left in any vehicle in their car park!

Well done to them but that means Monkey World is out this year!

We plan to get down the beach tomorrow but that will mean going down a toll road!

That should be fun!

With any luck we will find a dinosorarse and get it named after us, Woofasorus?

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

Didn't it Blow!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret here again!

Now, normally when we are on holiday we are in some wild and woolly place in the Highlands of Scotland and of course we are expecting winds and rain and snow and stuff like that. Down here in sunny Dorset we were looking forward to some warm sunshine and balmy breezes!

Last night when we went to bed there was a little rain tippy toeing on the caravan roof, a gentle sound to lull us off to sleep.

Then it started, the wind started slowly then sort of built into a howling blast that rattled the caravan and pounded the awning. Then the caravan started to sway and the wind was trying to lift the satellite dish from its flat 'Parked' position and send it off into the sky!

Luckily for us it stayed on the roof but it was beating up and down like a large cymbal!

We didn't sleep too much and both Holly and I cuddled up to Old Two Legs to keep warm and safe!

When the morning arrived, the wind and rain had gone! We were all still hear and OTL said that he had enjoyed his 'Two Dog Night'!

The internet didn't come back until mid morning but by then we had been out for a walk in the field with the ferrets, chasing pheasants!

Not that we caught any!

They went this way!
Mind you the field is big enough to get lost in and once off the lead we could do some serious running!

OTL was wandering along with his camera but we didn't see any of those pheasants but of course, we could see the caravan and The Missus inside having a snooze!

Ours is the one with the satellite dish poking up!

Look, there is TM!
On the way into the campsite we passed a door to a 'Hidden Garden' and of course OTL says he is going to take a picture using his 'Tilt/Shift' lens but today, just to see how it looks in the sunshine, he produced this master piece!

Well, it looks just like a wooden door to me!
The army ranges have been busy since we arrived and for most of the day they have been booming and rattling away with their guns doing wot army types do,  make a lot of noise.

Luckily for Holly, the banging noise they make has not upset Holly, it's those nasty whizz bangs in November that get her upset!

Hey! Bad news for Archie Babe, getting taken to the Poodle Parlour without any prior notice, I mean, a woofer has a reputation to keep up and a good sniff is all part of it!

Tomorrow, providing the weather looks dry enough, we may get down to the sea where all the dinosaurs are hiding and who knows, we might even find a Nargle or two!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.
