....................but it was only a Little Swim!

Hi Woofers!

Here we are again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

It's getting warmer!

Mind you, first thing this morning it was raining when we went out, not much but enough to notice and the clouds looked all dramatic!

Never mind dramatic, just look at the rain coming down the Medway!
We only just made it back to the car in time before the heavens opened up and dropped a load of water all over the place!

Lunchtime came and the rain had all gone, the sun had come out and it was beginning to get hot!

We met up with Skipper in the football field and had a chat about the missing sniff. He reckoned that the rain washed it all away, well, let's face it, it washed all the dust and dead fly's off the car!

That rains got a lot to answer for!
Skipper said hello to Old Two Legs as he passed. We don't often get to meet up with Skipper but it is always an enjoyable chat when we do!

Hello OTL, I've just sniffed your woofers!
As we got to the Sea Wall, OTL forgot to put the lead on me. I sort of walked behind him just like I was going to wander around the grass and then head off to the grass path and off to the car.

Well, that's what it looked like before I legged it down the beach and straight into the water!

It was just great, jumping and splashing and rolling on the sand and then in again for another swim!

As you would imagine, OTL tried to stop me but I was just too fast for him and I had a great time!

Just the weather for a swim!
I was covered with sand and sea weed and soaking wet but I didn't care, well not then anyway.

When we got home it was a different matter.

I was shoved into the kitchen and OTL went off to get all the hair cutting stuff and the washing stuff and the drying machine and the torture table!

I was then washed, shampooed, shaved and almost all my whiskers taken off!

I was trimmed all over and I even got my claws trimmed to boot!

Now I'm bald, clean and about two pounds of hair lighter than when I woke up this morning!

What will he do if I go in swimming tomorrow?

We hear that Archie Babes Two Legs is off to the TL Vet tomorrow, let's hope all goes well and she is back in no time, I mean, someone has to open the Doggy Scoff tin!

Bye for now!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

In Trubble, Again!

Hi Woofers!

The Gangs all here! Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

Now, you know how sometimes you think everything is going well and without trying very hard, the sky sort of falls in and Pooof! Everything hits the fan and your name is poo?

Sort of happened to Holly and me today!

This morning we were out early 'cos Old Two Legs was having trouble sleeping, it was The Missus marching up and down the stairs and turning the lights on. You see she had been woken up by the loud sound of her 'Singing', well she calls it singing but we all call it snoring!

Anyway, there we were almost an hour early down on the sea wall enjoying the cool air. It was rather overclouded, so OTL didn't bother with the camera which was rather clever 'cos half way around it started to rain!

Now, we haven't seen that for a long time!

Back home we were all damp and ready to roll around on the bed but TM had stripped it ready for washing. She was not a happy puppy 'cos there was no way to dry the bedclothes because of the rain!

Lunchtime it all changed, out came the sun and everything started to warm up and OTL had even brought his camera with him, minus the 105mm lens, he decided to go back to the 35mm lens!

As we headed across the football field Holly and I caught a passing whiff of a sniff to die for!

If the wind is blowing from that way then the sniff must be in that direction!
We let OTL wander on a bit while Holly and I tried to home in on the source!

It's over there, just past OTL, in fact, he is almost sitting on it!
Holly and I decided to leave it alone until we got back and if we could get ahead of OTL then not only would we get a good sniff, we'd get a roll as well before he caught up with us!

Off we went, our plan would be spot on and OTL wouldn't suspect a thing!

Looking across the Medway we could see the clouds, a sight we had almost forgotten about over the last couple of months!

All dramatic looking!
On our way back, Holly kept up a steady trot, which was most unlike her and OTL had to keep calling her back.

OTL was starting to get suspicious! In fact he was getting very suspicious and called us both back. Well, we didn't go back, we just sort of stopped and dawdled until he caught up and then 'Click' he had attached the yoke to our harnesses and that was it, no sniff, no roll, not happy!

It was your fault, trotting your backside towards the sniff, anyone could see you were on a mission!
Well, that was it, we got marched back to the car and we missed out on the best sniff of the day!

Rat Holes!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret.

A bit damp and windy, the weather not me!

Hi Woofers!

Us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

Well, today hasn't been very exciting really, we've had some rain, then we had the wind, then there was a little more rain and after that came the F1 racing!

I must admit, I slept all the way through the race and didn't wake up until the end to find that Lewis won it!

It hasn't been so hot but Old Two Legs decided that the ferrets would still have to stay indoors, just in case they got over heated running around!

Mind you, we reckon they could have got away with it first thing this morning.

We could see for miles!
The tide was out, the wind was blowing in of the river and it sniffed just right for a ferret! Still, OTL doesn't want the ferrets to get over heated so they stayed in bed!

When we get back home, the normal procedure is for Holly and I to get out butt's checked and wiped if needed. (Cause being a grumbly Tum).

After that we head for the bedroom so we can watch out the window while OTL goes poo shovelling.

The ferrets are let out of their cage for an hour and a half to rampage around the house while OTL has breakfast and then cleans cages!

We were given some cardboard tubes which OTL has cut to length, just big enough to go under the stairs, the ferrets are diving in and out of the tubes having a great time! Eric just loves them and so does Monty who seems to dive in and then later, roll out! It has been noticed that Miss Wendy and Monty will have a game of pretend fighting, a sure sign that things are going well with them!

Miss May is getting on a bit now but still enjoys a play fight with Eric but has a liking for rolling onto her back, half wriggling out of the tubes and 'Mouth Fighting' with Eric.

Holly and I did that when we were puppies, but not in a cardboard tube!

We hear that Rizzo has had an operation to remove a fatty lump and is recovering well. Rizzo is one of Izzy's family.

Holly said that she has fatty lumps but after the vet did a biopsy it was recommended that she goes on a diet!

Those vets can be sooo cruel!

You know, OTL is working hard getting all the 'Books' done 'cos it is the end of his 'Financial Year' and come the first of August will be starting his twenty fifth year 'in business'!

He says it seems like only a couple of years!

You know that is longer than Holly and I added up together!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret.

Rain? Wot Rain?

Hi Woofers,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret here again!

Wot a disappointment, I mean, we were supposed to have rain, floods, storms, lightning, thunder and all manner of wet.

What did we get?

Five minutes of rain, just enough to make the ground wet, then, nothing!

Talk about being cheated!

You know, even Holly was looking forward to a little roll of thunder!

OK, I know it has been a bit cooler today but we reckon that is because of the wind that has been blowing!

We had some fun this afternoon, Old Two Legs was looking at the pond and trying to work out which of the Lilly plants he will cull at the end of summer when he spotted a small movement on the side of the pond and guess what he saw?

It's one of Trevor's family!

He was complaining that he had been waiting ages for a cold beer and a side serving of Fly Pie!

The poolside service is so slow here!
Just across the pond and under an overhanging rock, his little brother was keeping out of the sun and keeping an eye open for grass snakes and Nargles!

I could do with just a bit more 'Damp' if you know what I mean!

The insect life wasn't up to much today due to the strong wind, so anything that flew was hanging onto the grass and staying put!

That was everything except spiders and creepy crawly bugs and grass hoppers.

It's a grasshopper, not a cricket!
Holly Chops did some investigating on the Internetty when she got home and reckons the cricket has long antennae and shorter legs in relation to their body length!

She then went on about crickets stridulate ("sing") by rubbing their wings together, while grasshoppers stridulate by rubbing their long hind legs against their wings.

Every time I try that OTL tells me to stop scratching my ear and then spends some time investigating the insides of my ear, just in case I have some bug or bits of grass in there!

So, after all that, it was a grasshopper!

OK, I'm of now 'cos I can hear dinner being served!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

It's Fry Day!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret here!

What a day it has been down this end of the country! You know it's a good job Old Two Legs no longer has his weather station 'cos he would be boring the pants off us with data all about temperature and humidity and pressure and stuff like that. Nowadays we just come up with .....Blooming Hot!

Well, the official report on today's weather is....Blooming Hot!

We had a bit of running around to do today so we used the big car 'cos it has air conditioning, well, it has but it;s not working very well! It takes ages for it to chill the inside of the car, so an appointment has been made for the car to go in for some TLC!

So, today we headed off to the sea side for our walk  and we came across  Mike the Marathon, he has a brother called Sid the Streak!

This family are all runners and are planning to enter the next Olympics, Gastropod Sections!

Can't stop, I'm on a Time Trial!
We left him to it, it was too hot for us to go running!

OTL went off looking for more interesting things to photograph and came across this Hover Fly similar to one we saw the other day!

It's just too hot to hover!
He also found another Hover Fly that was slightly different in its markings. It just goes to show that we have a wide range of insect life on the path along side the sea!

Another branch of the Hover Fly Family!
We still haven't seen any lizards or grass snakes yet but we will keep looking!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

Something new!

Hi Woofers!

Us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

Well, it has been a rather hot day today, in fact it has been very hot!

To help cool off Old Two Legs has been dipping the ferrets into a tray of cold water. The way they reacted you would think they had been dipped into a volcano!

Still, it helped cool them down and then made OTL laugh as they were trying to dry off by rolling around on the carpet!

Lunchtime it was just too hot to do anything but OTL called Holly and I into the bathroom where he wrapped a cold wet towel around the pair of us!

I must say, it was rather cool and enjoyable, right up to the point where a dribble of cold water dribbled down under my tail and made me thing I had ants in my pants!

That was the end of that!

This morning there was nothing insect like to photograph but instead we got these shots of the sun, not bad, not brilliant but not bad!

We liked the colours on this one and......................

...............we liked this one for the colours and the composition!
OTL took this one of us retreating, it was a case of 'Does my tail look big like this!

Speed sniffing up the Grass Path!
I'm off to find a cool place and OTL has just been called to dinner!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

Washed, Sploshed, Trimmed, Cut, & Shaved, Stabbed, poked and pulled and that was only Holly!

Hi Woofers!

We're back again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret, Monty de Ferret!

Oh Boy, what a day today. It has been one of those days when everything seemed to go wrong!

It started this morning when The Missus went out to do some shopping for Old Two Legs stock of curry!

While she was out OTL took us for a walk and Holly found a sniff that just called out for a roll!

And Roll She Did!

There was loads of dried grass and other stuff all over her back!

When we got home OTL decided to give Holly a bath, a real good wash and a splosh!

Holly was not a Happy Puppy, she got shoved into the shower, soaked to the skin, covered with shampoo and given a good scrubbing!

That was it, OTL even left the shower on so the soap could be washed off!

Then she was dried with her doggy towel and taken down to the kitchen so OTL could blow all the damp off her!

Once that was done, out came the shaver and OTL set about removing the hair from off her back!

Finally it was all done and just in time 'cos we had an appointment with the vet so we could get pushed, poked and stabbed!

I was lucky, I got out of the washing bit but still got stabbed!

Then we were out and off for a walk and just for fun, OTL took the camera to see what he could see.

More blooming Dragonflies!

OK, This is a good side!
Then after a couple of shots.........

OK, How's this for a 'Straight On Shot'!
Now, you wouldn't believe that the Dragonflies are only 5cm long from one end to the other!

We are off to get something to eat now, so bye bye.

See you tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret, Monty de Ferret!

First Signs?

Hello Woofers!

It's Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret again!

Well, it's been another warm day here in North Kent, in fact it was too hot for Old Two Legs to give us a wash and hair cut!

Yeess!

Down on the sea front OTL was clicking away at the Dragonflies while Holly and I enjoyed the sniffs but being so hot and dry for so long the sun has baked all the sniffs bone dry!

Not that OTL worries about that, he is too busy chasing Dragonflies!

No, I won't turn around!
He was clicking away when he clicked on a sure sign of autumn, a Blackberry!

I mean, it has only just gone Spring time and Summer has only just started and there is a Blackberry already!

A First Sign?
OTL says that it is best we ignore it 'cos we don't want Autumn yet 'cos we are still enjoying the Summer weather!

Autumn? I've only just pupated!
We also spotted a strange looking spiders web, the sort we normally see in Autumn!

Oh No! Not another sign!
Looking out to sea convinced us that Summer is still here, just look at that sky and sea!

Blue Sky and Sunshine, wot could be better?
Tomorrow we have got to go to the vet and get stabbed. It's our, 'once a year' stabbing and tomorrow we will be taking Miss May ;cos it;s her time as well. We may take Eric as well, depending on the temperature!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret.

Another warm day!

Hi Ho Woofers!

It's us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

It has been rather muggy today. It didn't help that last night Holly was woofing to go out, not to chase cats, foxes or hedgehogs but rather a Grumbly Tum!

It still didn't help Old Two Legs who nearly fell down the stairs to let Holly out!

That also meant that we were up late, in fact very late and we got down the sea shore almost two hours later than normal!

There were a few of the lads sniffing the sniffs but they were miles ahead of us, so we didn't get the chance to say hello!

Holly and I kicked up a rabbit and spent a good ten minutes chasing it around some bushes!

It wuz 'ere, I saw it!
OTL wandered off along the path looking for insects to photograph cos he had the 105mm lens on the camera today!

'Morning Cinnabar Caterpillar!
He managed to get a shot of this Hover Fly who stopped hovering and landed on the white flower head.

Standing is easier than hovering when your 10mm long!
Lunchtime we were out with OTL doing some deliveries. There was a farm we had to go to and Holly and I were thinking of getting out to stretch our legs but the were some big hairy woofers who looked like they could eat us both and still come back for more!

So, we stayed in the car and just blew raspberries at them!

Back home it was just a little cooler indoors and we saw Monty and Wendy all cuddled up on the hammock snoozing their tails off!

I'll be glad of a few drops of rain, just a few to cool us down!
This morning OTL put a tray full of cold water in the shower and let May and Eric have a play in the water. May was not impressed and when OTL dunked Eric in the water he exploded in a wave of water, all over the place!

Monty and Wendy played at blowing bubbles and Monty got his tummy wet but again, as soon as OTL dunked him into the water he was all paws and legs to get out!

Maybe they will enjoy it tomorrow!

Bye for now!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

We're getting fed up with insects!

Hello Woofers!

Back again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

Wot a super lazy Sunday!

Holly and I were up late woofing at the cats in the garden and out the front of the house.  Old Two Legs was not a happy puppy and forced Holly and I into the office and closed the door!

I mean, that's just not fair!

Still, around two thirty in the morning The Missus got fed up with us whining and scratching on the door and she got up and let us out!

We both gave OT^L a good licking on top of his head, just to say we were sorry!

Out on the morning run OTL was waving the camera about while Holly and I went potty chasing a rabbit around the field!

A Small Heath having a rest before flying off again!
OTL spotted this flower and thought it had an insect in the middle but it turned out to be a little flower petals!

OK, it's a weed but an unusual weed!
Back home left OTL to get on with the cage cleaning and poo shovelling!

All of the ferrets had a great time dooking their tails off and chasing each other around the house, then, just for fun, they got OTL to have a game of 'Chase' and 'Tickle Your Tum' and OTL even picked up Eric and blew a big raspberry on his tummy!

Once the ferrets were back in their cages we headed off to get our walk in before the F1 Racing started after lunch!

First thing we found was a couple of fishermen getting set up, they could take their time 'cos the tide wasn't even in yet!

'ere, where's me hook?
OTL spotted this Silver Spotted Blue which OTL says lives in an area no more than ten metres square!

We don't see many of these as they are normally seen on heath land.
It was getting a bit boring having OTL stop every few feet a start clicking away. This time he found a Six Spot Burnet who didn't want to let OTL take a picture of its back, so in the end OTL took a picture of his body!

Gotcha!
Holly and I got fed up with waiting for OTL, so we found a spot where the shadow was just right, under the bench!

OTL didn't see us there and was shouting his head off calling us! \\\\\\of course, we stayed under the bench and it took him ages to find us!

I jumped onto the bench and blew a big raspberry at him!

Can't catch me!
Back home Holly and I headed for the office and our beds while OTL sneaked off to watch the F1 Racing.

Now, we know that Michael has his birthday celebrations today, loads of eating planned for him!

All we need is for him to drop off some of his scoff to us, you know, sharesums?

OK, I think the racing is finishing so we are off to see what scoff is on offer.

Bye bye to you all and nite nite to Rosie!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

Foxses and flying things!

Hi Woofers!

We're back again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

It has been a very hot day today, the ferrets have been snoozing all day under their blankets.

They only woke up when the post man delivered Monty's new name tags and he made sure he was wearing his when we stopped by the village hall to say hello to Auntie Di and Rosie and the ladies!

Wendy gets a cuddle from Rosie and Monty shows off his name tag!
Of course, there in the background was The Missus pretending she knows what she is doing with the glue pot!

My finger is stuck to the card!
We left them to it and dropped the ferrets back home 'cos it was just too hot to take them walkies!

I'm sure I can sniff Weasels here!
We met up with Barney II who we haven't seen for ages, he and OTL had a cuddle then came over to us for a sniff!

OTL! Gissa Tail Tickle!
Heading back we came across a fox sitting in the middle of the path all bold as brass!

Well, being half Wire Haired Fox Terrier, terrorising Foxes is in our DNA and off we went like woofers with our tails on fire!

We chased him all over the place but in the end he managed to escape in the undergrowth!

Just made for a Wire Haired Fox Terrier to chase!
It was tiring chasing foxes and by the time we got to the car we just didn't feel like chasing rabbits, so this one managed to escape us, today!

I'm a little Rabbit and you can't catch me!
Lunchtime it was really hot, so, no running, just a slow amble along the paths while OTL managed to photograph this Four Spot Chaser who was also having a breather!

This is just too hot for chasing!
Holly and I made use of the shadow under the table while OTL was chasing insects and stuff but we didn't get to have a snooze until we got home!

'ere, I can sniff some burger meat here!
So, back home OTL decided it was too hot for washing and shaving Holly, so she got away with it today.

However, there is always tomorrow!

Bye for now!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

Holly spots a Baby Frog!

Hi Woofers!

Us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

Monty has been getting all excited waiting for his Name Tag but we recon that it won't arrive until mid week, next week that is!

This morning we caught the sunrise, well it had been up for a while but we still got the 'Golden Glow'!

Morning has Broken, like the first Morning!
When we get close to the Sea Wall I get put on the lead 'cos Old Two Legs doesn't want me to go in for a swim!

Holly gets away with staying off the lead 'cos she wouldn't go near the water if her tail was on fire!

No I'm not getting anywhere near that stuff!
OTL has been having fun filling out his Income Tax Return, that always bring tears to his eyes, worse than the vets!

Lunchtime there was something in the air we hadn't seen for some time..........RAIN!

Well, it was more like a few spots of wet, not really rain but, it was wet!

We saw a couple of Six Spot Burnet moths making caterpillars! OTL managed to get this shot but the breeze was blowing in off the sea and the grass was waving about all over the place!

Add caption
OTL said they looked like Six Spot but Holly reckons they could be Five Spot or even a Four Spot Burnet!

Wot about a Twelve Spot Burnet, ever seen one?............'Don't be so stupid!'
Back home we saw the first signs of the frog spawn working, there on a leaf sat a tiddly little froglet waiting for an insect to pass by but he got scared when he saw us and dived straight back into the pond!

There's Froggy!
Tomorrow The Missus is off to her Master Class and as Rosie will be there OTL is planning to take not only Wendy, but Monty as well!

That's all tomorrow and OTL was thinking about giving Holly a wash and hair cut!

Let's hope it will be all warm and sunny!

Bye for now.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret.

In search of a sniff!

Hello Woofers!

Us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

Yep! You saw (de Ferret) just right, after some discussions we have decided that Monty should get his full name engraved on a Brass Tag and officially named as a member of the gang!

Now that is a sure sign that he has joined our pack!

Over the last few days Monty has been found cuddling up with Wendy in the Cuddle Cup and that is a good sign he has been accepted by her!

Mind you, he is still kept in the cage 'cos it is just too hot for any of them to go out!

That leaves Old Two Legs all to Holly and me!

We were out a bit earlier than normal, but it was still warm, however, we did manage to catch a 'Sunrise' of sorts. The sun is well above the top of the photo but we did get a bit of colour!

It makes a change to see the darker colours!
The Dragonflies were all up and flying about but we still managed to catch one or two who were late getting up!

Honest, I didn't hear the alarm clock!
It was not only the Dragonflies that were late in getting up, here is a fly who didn't seem to know if it was Christmas Day or Christmas Pud!

That was one hell of a night.........where am I?
Back home the birds were getting well fed on the seed and peanut feeders. We spotted a young Starling having a bash at the peanuts. Looking at his colouring you could see he was this years brood, but early in the year!

Oi! These are for us Sparrows!
Lunchtime we were down the Sea Front again and it was getting very hot. OTL found this Dragonfly taking a breather.

Wot looks interesting is the whiskers on his chops and if you look carefully, you can see his 'Compound Eyes'!

Just imagine if I was Two Metres Across!
Holly and I are getting a little fed up with the lack of sniffs, you see, as soon as a sniff lands anywhere the sun bakes it and Poof! The sniff just disappears into the sky so there is nothing left for us to enjoy!

Just wait until we get a little rain, all the sniffs in the ground will be let loose at the same time then you know what will happen?.....Sniff Overload!

Baked dry again!
We went down to the carriers to drop off the stuff OTL 'Manufactured' yesterday, so that is a load off his mind!

Not sure what is for dinner tonight, possibly Doggy Scoff, we are getting a little more than our fair share 'cos The Missus has been busy 'Creating' in her card room and who knows, she might get them shown on the TV!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!
