Silly Sunday!

Hi Woofers!

Here we are again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

Now Sundays here are normally a very lazy sort of day, you know, get up late, have a snooze, slow walk around the Grain Sea Front, back home, have snooze, wake up, blag a nibble or two and then have a snooze!

That's just us woofers!

The ferrets are sort of doing the same except that they don't go to Grain Beach!

Now Miss May has to have a tablet every morning and there are times when she just doesn't want slurp it down. So, Old Two Legs has worked out a plan. He lets her get up when she wants and after a wander around the house she eats some Brambles biscuits and then asks for a drink.

That's when OTL gets out the crushed pill and with a little fluid and the.......SLURP!

Sneaky or wot!

Now, the ferrets like this snoozing stuff. It's a ferret thing to sleep around eighteen hours a day so it's not unusual to walk past the cage and see.......................

Miss Wendy and Monty having a 'Ferret Snooze'!
This morning The Missus was working away on a crafty thing and OTL walked past, stopped and picked up a pack of elastic string stuff. 'ere! he says to TM, 'wotts this stuff for'?

Well, says TM that's elastic string that I thread through these holes and then I stuff some pages in her and.............. OTL walked off saying his brain hurt with all the explanations and anyway, the ferrets were calling!

So, it was later after we came back from our walk that OTL walked past TM who was working away on thing and OTL says, wossat?

It's a Journal Cover that I told you about this morning says TM and OTL looks at it and then asks.....'Mmmm, so where does the knicker elastic go?'

It's amazing how fast OTL can move when TM picks up something to throw at him!

See you tomorrow when it's back to work time!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

Saturday Fun!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret back again!

Well, how do you feel this morning? I mean, did you join Old Two Legs in celebrating Burns Night?

OTL always celebrates Burns Night on account he has a good excuse to have a bigger slurp than normal!

Mind you, The Missus says that if he want Haggis, then he will have to make it himself!

We got up late this morning!

Honest, it had nothing to do with the size and number of slurps!

We went out for our morning walk about an hour and a half later than normal which also means the sun had time to get up, unfortunately the sun got up but hid behind the clouds!

The Moon was out and looked worth a shot but really could do with some  filtering but as all he had
was a 35mm lens we got this!

OK, so, where is the Chinese Space ship!
Looking back towards the sunrise you can tell it's not out of bed yet!

Maybe in a few weeks we'll get some colour!
Lunchtime was exciting, we went the long way around and managed to get a run on the beach!

Can't catch me!
Now Holly may be quick but she just can't keep up with me!

Super Fast Flying Puppy!
We didn't hang about on the beach 'cos sometimes the sand gets in Holly's eyes and causes OTL to spend money at the vets!

Back home it was snooze time while May and Eric came out of the cage for a rampage!

It was a good job OTL closed the office door or Holly and I could have had fun chasing ferrets!

Doggy Scoff tonight so it looks like we got some serious mugging tonight or we may end up having to eat that stuff!

Now, we all must go 'Aaaah! on account Auntie Sue has got a cold and is feeling all 'Befuddled' well, a bit more than usual!

A glass of Horlicks and a warm bed is called for!

See you tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret.

Rabbit Hunting!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret here again!

It's Friday again!

We love Friday 'cos it means that Old Two Legs finishes early and the weekend starts around four thirty!

Well, OTL should have finished by then and all the computers shut down!

As you know, we got out early for our morning walk and spend all the time in the dark. The idea was so that we could have a walk and not worry about big bounding bozo woofers chasing after us.

It seems that the idea has caught on, even at six fifteen, in the dark there are at least three other Two Legs out walking their woofers as well! There is one with a couple of loud woofin' bozo's then there is another TL who walks along with a high powered LED torch which gets shone all over the place, scaring off the rabbits and blinding us and OTL!

We don't reckon it would be any better if we come out any earlier than we do at the moment, there would still be TL's out with the woofers!

Now, talking of rabbits like wot we were before someone shone a torch at us, dark is good for hunting rabbit!

OTL knows the places where there is likely to be a couple of rabbits our for a morning munch of grass. So, carefully and quietly we sneak around the side of the bushes, spot the rabbit and go tearing after it. Only problem is, the bozo with the LED torch has alerted the rabbit and scared it off before we got going!

Lunchtime is becoming a bit quieter and there is a better chance of kicking up a rabbit or two!

The only problem is, we are down the bottom of the hill and we spot a rabbit, however, the rabbit is up the top of the hill and by the time we have run all the way up the hill, we're out of breath and the rabbit is gone!

I'm getting too old for all this stuff!
Although there has not been any rain, the day has been rather grey, a typical January day!

OTL took the camera with him at lunchtime but other than our harnesses, there was nothing colourful, so, he tries to capture interesting stuff with composition.

As we say, he tries!

Well, the thought is there but it lacks anything dramatic!
Maybe he should stick to close up stuff, with Spring coming there's bound to be some more buds getting ready to burst.

On the other paw, he could fit the 'Long Lens' and try photographing rabbits!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

I Spy Snow!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret here!

First the good news, Miss May slurped down her medicine after a little coaxing and a cuddle from Old Two Legs, then she went off to sleep and got a cuddle from Eric!

Our morning walk was done in the dark, as usual, but when we were heading for home there was some morning glow on the horizon. We reckon in a week or two we might just get a sunrise photo worth showing!

Today we just have to put up with a glow!

Lunchtime was better, we started off at the football field with Holly wondering why they put a fence around a prize weeing post!

I mean, it's such a super post for a wee!
We went through the undergrowth chasing a rabbit but it didn't hang about and soon left us lost in the brush looking for a path back to OTL!

Don't worry, he'll be calling and whistling soon and we'll find him then!
The whole day has been rather grey but we did see some snow flakes blowing around. Not many but enough to notice. Even Holly didn't want to hang about as was soon heading off back to the car, but via the rabbit hole!

Come on, rabbits this way!
We had another look for the rabbit but it was off hiding down the hole!

What about Nargles?
Before we got home we had to do some shopping at the local Co-op and then headed off into town to deliver some stuff to one of OTL's customers.

Back home we decided to watch some TV programs The Missus has saved, so that means cuddles on the sofa!

This is the life!

See you tomorrow, without the snow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret.

No Snow but it's Draughty!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret back with you again!

Well, down this corner of the Empire we are snow free!

It has been a little chilly and the wind has been blowing but not enough to put us off our walkies!

Mind you, first thing this morning it was zero degrees on the temperature gauge and we didn't hang about!

Now, at lunch time Old Two Legs is plonking away on the computer and has no sense of time, not like wot us woofers do. So, I have to jump up and give the back of his seat a good thump. Then I crouch down in my special 'Walkies Time' position!

Time for Walkies OTL!
It never fails to get his attention and if he doesn't move, I give him another bash!

We met up with the little Jack Russell whose name I have forgotten, I think it is Amber.

Well, she had a knitted jacket that looks like it would be good and warm if it was snowing or windy.

Mind you it wouldn't be any good in the rain!

She came bounding up to OTL for a tickle behind the ears and to say hello and show off her coat!

Hey! Does my tail look good in this?
Of course, not satisfied with OTL saying she looks good in it, she just had to hang about showing it off to Holly who said that it looked good but lacked the handle like wot we got so that we can get lifted up into the car!

OMG! Do I really need a Handle?
We all had a laugh about that and carried on the the sniff patch to catch up on the passing woofers!

Miss May has been a bit naughty today, she has refused to take her tablet, no matter how many cuddles she got from OTL She has got to go back to the vet at the end of the month and OTL says he will get some medication in liquid form to squirt down her chops!

I reckon it will be as horrid as the stuff I got squirted down my throat!

I'm off to finish off the chicken before Holly decides she needs it more than I.

See you tomorrow and let's hope the snow stays away!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret.

Holly get's the Grumbles!

Hello Woofers!

Here we are, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

There were no red moons today so that means we were up early!

There was no chance of seeing the stars or the moon so we didn't bother with the camera!

Back home we retired up to our bed while the ferrets were let out. Eric was doing his normal trick and tearing around the lounge like he had his tail on fire!

Miss May on the other paw stayed in bed, not really wanting to get up at all. A little later she woke up but just didn't fancy taking her medicine, no matter how hard Old Two Legs tried!

So, after the allotted time, both Eric and May headed off to bed but an hour later May was up and bouncing around the cage! So, OTL crushed up another pill and tried to administer the medication.

She slurped it all down in one go! Then, after finishing she had a cuddle with OTL and even gave him a licky kiss!

When Wendy and Monty came out they were doing an 'Eric', you know it's amazing just how fast these ferrets can go!

Almost as soon as the ferrets went back to bed, Holly and I were telling OTL we needed a walk!

We went around the back and up the hill. In fact OTL managed to get up to the top first, mainly because Holly and I stopped for a sniff!

OTL, that was SNEAKY!
Holly is not as quick so she ended up being last up the hill!

I was enjoying that sniff!
Just for a change we followed the Sea Wall back to our car.

Come on, let's play 'Up & Down'!
Just to make a change, we spotted a cormorant fishing just off shore.

Oi! Seen any good fish around here?
We got back home and headed up to the office and our Day Bed where we both had a good snooze.

Holly was next to the ferret cage and while she was snoozing and cuddling the rawhide chew she pinched off me, Monty came down to have a poo and managed to wake up Holly.

Now, I'm not sure what woke Holly up, the sniff or the noise but awake she was and Holly doesn't do being woke up without an appointment first!

Being possessive, Holly set about telling Monty where could go and what he could do when he got there!

All of this attracted OTL's attention and he told Holly off for being so grumpy. Not that Holly agreed with him and kept up a low throaty grumble while being told off!

OTL didn't think that Holly was paying proper attention to what OTL was saying, so, to get her to focus, OTL took away the chew!

Holly was not happy and stomped off down stairs to show off on the sofa!

You would have thought by now she would have learnt her lesson!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

Super Red Woofing Moon!

Hello Woofers!

Us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

Well? Did you see it? I mean we have been told about it, what time it starts and the best time to view it and what did you do? Slept all the way through it I bet!

OTL almost missed it, like, he got up at ten past four, had a quick look out the curtains on his way out to the loo, then another look on his way back to bed and again at five fifty he got up and had another look. Both times there were bits missing from the moon but it wasn't red, a sort of silvery pale pinkish thing in the sky!

We were listening to the radio where an 'Expurt' was talking about what you missed at the very moment of full eclipse. The best description we heard was, 'If you were standing on the moon looking at earth, you would be seeing all the sunrise and sunsets all over the world at the same time!

Hey! Now then, wouldn't I like to see that, and better still, what would you call it, 'The Earth Fire Ring' ?

We didn't bother with the camera this morning 'cos unless we were up at five thirty we wouldn't have seen the red moon!

Mind you, at lunch time we could see the effect of the Super Full Moon had on the tide, right up the beach it was!

A Super Red Woofy High Tide and it's on the way out now!
Looking out over the Thames Estuary we could see the ships going past and a good showing of sea mist!

I see no ships! Only Hardships!
Back home there was a big bowl of chicken waiting for me and the prospect of a good snooze afterwards!

Tonight we will be watching the last of the DVD's while Old Two Legs is slurping the last few drops he manages to squeeze out of the bottle of malt whisky!

One of the good things is that he will be nibbling at a box of shortbread he got for Christmas and of course being 'Expurts' on Shortbread, Holly and I help him, with the Short Bread, not the whisky!

We both had a sniff of whisky some time back and we decided it was awful! I mean, you could clean a tractor engine with that stuff!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

Spring is on it's way!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret here again!

It's still got that chill in the air that Holly Chops thinks is snow! I'm not too sure but at least there is no snow today!

Being Sunday we were up a little later than normal and Old Two Legs thought there may even have been a sun rise display but the clouds soon stopped that and it was all rather grey and windy, not the best conditions for a sunny sunrise!

Lunchtime was better, blue sky and sun, even though it wasn't very high in the sky!

To make it worse, the tide was in so no dash along the beach for us, just a sniff of the sea wall!

Not the most exciting vista this month!
One good thing, we spotted some leaf buds starting to swell up. Holly says it's a good sign 'cos it means that the Spring is getting ready to be sprung!

Our churchyard already has the normal display of Daffy Dills along the path up to the door!

Spring is springing out again!
We met up with Max and Oscar who were both woofing at a rather large German Shepherd Woofer who was pointedly ignoring both of them!

We had a little woof but stayed well away from him!

Being Sunday we spent most of the afternoon snoozing and watching a couple of DVDs and yes, falling asleep every so often!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret.

Jet Stream, Snow and Yuk?

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret here!

You know, Saturday in our kennel is always 'Relaxing', well, let's say that we don't really exert ourselves too much. During the week we are always ready to help Old Two Legs with all the stuff he has to do and then of course there is the guarding, Archie Babe will know all about that and we also have to keep the ferrets in line as well!

Saturday starts off like any other day except we normally get up half an hour later than normal and as the days are getting longer, there is always the chance of a sunrise.

OK, not the full blown sun beams and red sky!
So, being Saturday, just in case, OTL took the camera with us when we went out.

We don't have those silly LED lights around our collars but if there is a tiddly bit of light, it gets reflected off our harnesses, just like this!

Is this wot they call 'Shoulder Flashes?'
Back home The Missus had left for the village hall for her fix of glue slapping and inky fingers!

First thing was the Ferret cleaning. So, being understanding woofers, Holly and I left OTL to it while we snoozed on the bed and generally relaxed!

Miss May was well up for a game with Eric and soon told him where to get off!

Monty and Wendy were in the same mood for a game and spent time chasing each other through the cardboard tubes and behind all the furniture!

Lunchtime we woke up just in time to catch the late lunchtime wall and rabbit chase. We always like chasing the rabbits around the gorse bushes and if Holly manages to chase them around the back of the bush and I chase them around the front, the rabbits end up not knowing which way they should run!

You know there are times when OTL gets involved in the chase as well when the rabbits nearly run him over!

Come on OTL, you gotta be quicker than that!
The one thing about today was it it was colder and windier than yesterday and Holly reckons she can sniff snow on the air. It seems like there might be a change in direction of the Jet Stream which means that it will be bringing cold winds down from the north!

I reckon it won't be long before OTL digs his gloves out! You know he hasn't got them out at all since last year!

OK, we are off for some chicken, so bye bye for now.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret.

Friday, 18 January 2019

and today there was Frost!

Hi Woofers!

Us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

Yesterday it was snow and wind and rain and today it's frost and cold and not so much wind!

It also has been sunny and complete with blue skies!

Mind you, the hill is still here and Old Two Legs is insisting that we climb up the hill to 'get some exercise'!

I think I'd rather enjoy the sniffs than run up there again!
Not that OTL was listening, so, up we go and there was one small benefit from us, we got 4XPaw traction!

That means we can get up the hill quicker than OTL which gives us a chance to get in some sniffs until he turns up!

Fancy joining us in a sniff OTL?
Another good thing is that from the top of the hill we can see down onto the football field and the bushes where some of the rabbits hide!

Look! The car seems miles away!
After the lunchtime walk we headed off to a couple of customers to do some deliveries. OTL took the stuff in and we sorted the paperwork out by sitting on the delivery notes!

Miss May was all bright and full of fun today, she has been bouncing around the cage this afternoon, which is a good sign especially when she chases after Eric and grabs his tail and gives it a good shake!

The Missus has been back to get her eyes checked and has been given some more drops for OTL to put in her eyes.

Tomorrow we are planning to watch that DVD OTL got for his birthday, so far we have all fallen asleep half way through it so if we are lucky, we might see it from start to finish!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!
