A Boring Day plus a 105mm Lens gets an airing!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty back again.

Well, we all know it has been warm today but here it has been rather boring, in fact it has been boringly boring and I do mean boring!

Old Two Legs finally got out his 105mm lens and off he went chasing bugs!

Holly and I wanted a game of chase or even have OTL walking next to us but today we seemed to spend ages waiting for him to finish off waving the camera about!

First he started of with a caterpillar of the Cinnabar Moth, a sort of red and black daytime moth.

Is it yellow with black rings or black with yellow rings?
OTL got all excited and pointed out the big stiff hairs on the body, a sort of protection in case a bird tries to eat it!

A fine set of hairs mate!
Holly and I stay away from little bugs that have a defence mechanism that might hurt us!

No, leave that one,it's got pincers!
We were busy shiffing the sniffs when Cody came lolloping up and wanted to know what OTL was doing with his head in the grass and his tail in the air!

Is he alright like that?
We told him wot OTL was doing and how daft we think it is!

He got a shot of this butterfly which normally lands and folds it's wings but this one kept it's wings open, just for OTL!

Yep! I'm a Gate Keeper!
There were loads of these red Dragonflies that were zooming all over the place. OTL recons that the zoom about just like the Golden Snitch in Harry Potter!

Hurry up, take the photo I can't hang about any longer!
Then, Zoom and off he went like a streak of light!

We cam across one that was resting on a leaf getting a rest before carrying on zooming all over the place!

This mating stuff is rather tiring!
The rest of the day has been spent 'Manufacturing' I mean he had loads of cable all over the place in fact is was a whole half a kilometre when it started!

Now it is all packaged up and ready for the carriers tomorrow, so, with any luck we should get some attention tomorrow!

Must go, I sniff Doggy Scoff being served up and I'm starving!

See you tomorrow!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty.

We get a Seriously Good Treat!

Hi Woofers!

Here we are again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty the Brave!

Another warm day here in sunny North Kent! In fact it was very warm first thing this morning and although we were out early, we were not out early enough!

We were beaten by a couple of rather large fare ground guard dogs that were thankfully roped to a large metal pole that had been hammered into the football field!

Can you imagine what would happen if they were let loose?

Holly reckons they both would get a smack on the tail from Old Two Legs!

Yeah! We'd soon sort them out, no problems!
It was just too hot to do any running so we just took a slow amble along the Sea Wall having a chat with OTL and watching the ships go by.

Another one heading for the docks up river.
As we walked back across the football field OTL took this photo of the 'Ride', mind you, we couldn't see where the horses were hidden and how they could spin that roundabout without falling over!

We are going to have to come back and see it working!
Lunchtime we were out again and it was even worse. OTL took the big car 'cos it has air conditioning and was nice and cool. We couldn't wait to get back in after a walk. Then, to our surprise, OTL headed off into town, he had some stuff to drop off and as Holly and I had been such good puppies, we dropped into the Doggy Shop!

The rabbits were still in their glass cages all snoozy and motionless.

You can just imagine what would happen if Holly and I got in there with them!

We headed for the 'Treat' section and OTL purchased a couple of packs of Chicken Fillets and when we got back to the car, Holly and I had a big piece each and a drink afterwards 'cos OTL always brings our water bowl with us when we go out in this heat.

One small problem, he will over fill the bowl and although it is supposed to be a travelling water bowl it somehow manages to slosh some water over the rim and today it landed on my butt!

I was a soggy doggy, all the way home!

Tomorrow, OTL says, he has a load of 'Manufacturing' to do so we will have to amuse ourselves while he gets busy busy!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty.

The Goose Fare has arrived!

Hi Woofers!

Here we are again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty Boy!

Well, wot a hot day today! It was OK this morning but lunchtime we didn't bother to go all the way around the Sea Wall Walk, it was a case of a quick wee and a poo, couple of sniffs, then head for home!

This morning we bumped into a new woofer on the block! We were on out way back when this black lump appeared from behind the bushes!

Well, he just sat there not knowing what to do, so, Holly, being the inquisitive type waddled up to say hello!
Hello!
Then, while he sat there Holly gave him a quick sniff, just to make sure he was a woofer!

OK, you'll do, young lad ain't you?
We all had a chat and a sniff and we introduced him to Old Two Legs who gave him a tickle on the tail and a scratch across the shoulders!

Hello OTL!
He said his name is Barney and he was just two years old! He was a Labradoodle, third generation which means his great grandfather was a Labrador and his Great Grandmother was a Poodle! Well that's OK by us but we did tell him that there were two other woofers around here called Barney, there is Barney I an English Pointer and then there is Barney II who is a lovable Doodle dog who just loves the ferrets. So, he will have to be Barney III!

We left him to get on with his walk and we told him where the rabbits normally can be found and pointed him to a couple of sniffs we found this morning!

OTL was working all morning and also had to take Holly down the vets 'cos her ear was itchy, it was the return of the Streptococklewotsit, so he got some more ear stuff and then cried all the way home 'cos it cost so much!

Lunchtime walk was hot, I mean really hot. So, a quick walk was all we managed but OTL got to run off a couple of shots of the Lichen on the concrete posts plus he chased a Buff Tailed Bumble Bee across the flowers but only managed a shot of his butt!

Well, these don't move in the wind!
We reckon OTL should put on the 105mm lens 'cos these bugs can be difficult to photograph, especially when there is a breeze blowing!

All we saw was his butt!
Back at the football field, the first of the fare ground rides had arrived, OTL says that when he was a little boy he used to visit one that was called a Goose Fare. He said that although it was called a the Goose Fare, he never saw any geese!

Hey Mister, got any geese in there?
We reckon that they will be having their fun this coming weekend, so that means we may get some nibbles 'cos there are bound to be some hot dog stands!

See you tomorrow and OTL has promised to pack the 105mm lens!

Bye for now.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty.

What's in a name?

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and The Mighty Monty!

Here we are again fans, blooming hot again!

The ferrets didn't get a run out today, it was just too hot!

Yesterday Sue said she and Michael were up in Swaffham which is pronounced by the locals as Swaaaaarf Ham, we know 'cos Old Two Legs has been up there on business.

Now, years ago he was up there but needed to call into a place on the map called Happisburgh which was on the coast.

Now, up there the sign posts are few and far between, so a stop to ask the way is not unusual, so, OTL pulls up beside a local and asks if he is far from Happys Burg?

Arrrh? says the local, dunno wot you be talking abt!

So OTL shows him the map and points to Happisburgh.

Arrrrrrrh! Says the local, you mean Hazeborough!

Hazeborough? Can't you speak English, it says Happisburgh!

Not sure who was right, the local who was muttering about 'Bloody Tourists' or OTL who was muttering about 'Bloody Yokles' !

Today the ferrets stayed indoors, which was about the best place and Holly and I did our best to stay in the cool shadows as well!

OTL was doing some work but this afternoon took our advice and searched out a cool spot to watch a video or two!

That's the way to spend a Sunday!

Back to work tomorrow, if we can get enough enthusiasm!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty!

Another Hot Day!

Hi Woofers,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty Boy here!

Well, have we got some good news!

Yesterday, last night and most of today, when Wendy and Monty have been asleep, they have been cuddled up together in the Cuddle Cup Bed!

When they have both been awake and in the cuddle cup, Monty has been giving Wendy a seriously good lick on the back of the neck and also washing her ears out!

Now, that is a super development and Monty looks like he has finally been accepted by Wendy!

We just love a good news story!

A bit like today, it has been rather warm, no, tell a lie, it's been blooming hot!

In fact, we came across a Butterfly that was so confused he kept falling off the blade of grass he landed on!

I'm getting really dizzy!
We heard a terrible buzzing sound and spotted one of those Micro Tights flying overhead, Holly said it may have been the one that buzzed a golf course up in Scotland but Old Two Legs said it was the wrong colour!

Ere, I've lost me protest banner!
Lunchtime we were out again and the ferrets were just too hot to come out with us. Mind you, it was thirsty work running around the Sea Wall and we just couldn't wait to get back to the car for a drink, even if the water was all lukewarm!

I could drink a gallon, no matter what temperature it is!
The Missus is off to a posh evening down at Rochester Castle listening to classical music, whatever that is!

Mind you, she is taking her own seat and a cool bag with some giggle juice to share with Auntie Jane who will be there as well!

Looks like OTL will be getting sausage and chips tonight, maybe we will get a nibble to!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty.

Holly has been dreaming again!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty Babe here!

Sometimes we have strange things happen here, like this morning. There we were all of us cuddled up on the bed when Holly starts yelping and snapping her teeth at nothing at all!

We all woke up, well everyone except The Missus, and we looked at Holly thinking she was having a 'Bad Turn'!

Suddenly she rolled over on her back and started kicking her paws like she is running after a rabbit!

Then, she stopped running and opened her eyes.

'Oooooh!' she says, I was dreaming about Plawn Clackers flying around the bedroom and I was chasing them and trying to catch them as they flew about!'

That Doggy has some Strange Dreams!

It's been another warm day and we have been discussing the sniffs you could get when chopping down a pine tree. We had to have some trees removed from our front garden and the sniffs were great! I mean, it all smelt like a bottle of pine disinfectant!

Now, we like the idea of a Dog Sitter coming to look after us, Izzy has got it made, all you have to do is show off when the doggy scoff arrives and the sitter goes into panic mode and telephones the local Take-a-Way and there you are, Plawn Clackers and Steak!

Trouble with us, we get taken everywhere that Old Two Legs and The Missus goes so bang goes our Plawn Clackers and Steak!

Holly Chops got the start of an eye infection and the vet gave OTL some jollop to put into Holly's eyes and now the infection has gone and she is back to normal.

All we have to look forward to is another visit for our yearly 'Poke and Stab' but this time we will be taking Miss May along so she can get her eye checked out!

It's all go here, TM has been working on the Master Class samples for this weekend and it looks all very professional! Holly wanted to help but paw prints were not on this weeks list of 'Things to Do'!

Now, wot's all this Rats Poo about a woofer not being able to forecast the weather?  Those computers just look at the past conditions and work out an average of possible cloud and rain movements. Any one with a basic Amstrad could do that! It takes a woofer and the wonderful sense of sniff to detect the fine change in the density of the molecule's that blow in off the North Sea!

And another thing, did you know that disagreeing with us could lead to a visit by the Woofer Squad and your Steak And Chips could be confiscated plus he could get a Woofers Warning which is very painful around the butt end!

So there!

Blooming TL's think they know everything!

We took May and Eric out this morning when we had our walk along the Sea Front but had to leave Monty and Wendy curled up together in the Cuddle Cup. Yes! They have been in there almost all day. OTL put Monty in the Cuddle Cup after his run around the house and soon he was asleep, then, OTL took the blanket which acts as a second bed, and put it in the for washing. Then, bringing Wendy in from her Hidy Hole where she snoozes in TM's Card Room, he put her in the cage, not the Cuddle Cup. A bit later the pair were all cuddled up together and Wendy has been seen getting up for a wee and getting back in the Cuddle Cup without Monty being thrown out of the bed!

Lunchtime we headed off again for a walk and spotted a TL teaching the worms to swim!

Come on, kick your legs!
The football field was looking like it could do with a splash of rain!

Sorry, no rain today, maybe tomorrow if your lucky!
When we got close to the Sea Wall I saw the tide was in and decided to go for a swim!

Unfortunately, OTL had thought of that and had put the lead onto my harness, wot a Rat Bag!

Come on, just a little swim?
So, there I was, all dry, hot and panting!

Still, the weekend is here and who knows, I might get a swim tomorrow!

Bye bye for now.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty.

All Tyred Out!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Mad Monty!

We have decided that Monty is a bigger coward than me! Like, I rush off on another path if I see any other woofers coming along the same path as we are on but Monty is something else!

Old Two Legs put Monty into the cuddle cup this morning after cleaning the cage. Monty was a little tired after the rampage around the house and quickly fell asleep. Miss Wendy was wide awake and ferreting about around the cage and the food bowl!

OTL had an idea!

He picked up Wendy and slid her into the cuddle cup next to Monty. Miss Wendy sniffed the back of his head the proceeded to lick his ear.

Now, in ferret world that is a very, very friendly thing to do.

Monty just sort of 'came too' realised what Wendy was doing and flew out of the cuddle cup like his tail was on fire!

If ever there was a moment when his life was going to change it was then and he blew it!

Well, at least they aren't fighting!
Miss Wendy decided that she wanted a ride in the ferret bag and every so often she would poke her head out of the bag and ask.................

Are We There Yet?
Of course, it took her a little while to wake up and in the end she got out, just in time to run back!

Monty though it all good fun and followed Holly and I as we went hunting sniffs in the long grass!

What sniff you found?
OTL had fun photographing flowers but the wind was blowing so he couldn't get a pin sharp

Funny shaped petals!
Miss Wendy, finally woke up and headed off for the car but towards the end she had to ask OTL for a lift, well, it was a bit warm!

Heavy going this is!
Later on OTL had to go out to see a customer so Holly and I stood guard and kept a watch out until he came back!

Is it him?
Tomorrow it is supposed that we will get some rain, not too much we hope, we are just getting used to this warm weather!

See you tomorrow!

Luv, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty!

It's Cool Man Just COOOL!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty Babe here again!

We had a laugh at poor Archie Babes misfortune with the violet thingy. I mean, if a woofer likes the taste then it's got to be good for a woofer!

Holly takes that attitude as well but sometimes the taste bites back and the 'Grumbly Tum' causes problems!

Mind you, she hasn't had tummy trouble for a few weeks and part of that is Old Two Legs keeping her off the beach!

This morning we took Eric and May with us 'cos they haven't been out for a couple of days and Eric was going stir crazy!

Miss May enjoyed herself on the football field, rolling in as many sniffs as she could find!

There is nothing better than a Weasel Wee Sniff!
Another good thing is she is keeping her eye open all the time, except when she is asleep!

There is still some drops left so she doesn't need to go to the vets yet.

Well, it's not so sore as it was!
Eric just loves it on the football field, not only are the sniffs great but he can run at full speed and get OTL to run along side him, just to keep up!

He loves running behind Holly and me, trying the sniffs we sniff!

OK, who fancies a run?
Lunchtime we had to go and pick up the little car. You know, it had been washed and a new set of carpets put in the front of the front seats!

OTL says he will get the big car in for some TLC next month, before we go away for our second holiday!

On the way back OTL dropped into the vet for the worming tablets and was asked 'Wgat do you want?' OTL, in a laddish voice says 'Worming Tablets Please' and the lady behind the till says he should go and see the doctor but OTL says that they recommended the vet!

The whole waiting room erupted in laughter!

Then the lady says that we have a love hate relationship and OTL says Yeah, you love to see me and I hate to pay!

More laughter!

The vet stuck her head out of the consulting room and asked how Miss May was getting on and for OTL to bring her back when the drops run out!

We have been getting ready for tonight, loads of nibbles, a bottle or two of giggle juice and a football rattle, just to upset the neighbours when England score!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty.

Temperature is Just Right!

Hello Woofers!

Us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty Chops!

Well, it's started, the temperature is dropping and the clouds have returned again!

We took Wendy and Monty with us this morning and they both enjoyed the cool air and Monty walked all the way around the grass path!

Now, there's something we haven't seen for some time!
Down on the beach there was that green stuff, I wonder how long it will be before it decides to move on?

All green and yucky!
Lunchtime the sun was back even though the clouds hung about it was too hot for Eric and May to come with us.

Shall we tell Old Two Legs about this sniff?
The small car had to go in for its yearly service and it's the only time it gets a really good wash!

Tomorrow we have to visit the vets, it's that time when we have to eat those worming tablets. I mean, I know that we got to have them but why don't they make them taste nice?

They sniff horrid and taste worse!

It's going to be fun seeing how OTL plans to get us to eat them!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty.

There is a change coming!

Hi Woofers!

It's Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty Babe!

Another hot and sticky day today! Mind you, if you get up early enough it is rather pleasant down by the sea side.

Miss May has been opening her eye fully over the last couple of days and today Old Two Legs decided that she could join us on our morning stroll!

OK, I know it is a bit fuzzy but we think that the ulcer has damaged the corneal making it look misty, like a cataract.

Yeah! and the reflection of the sun as well!
OTL will take May back to the vet when the drops finish for an inspection and recommendation of further treatment, if possible!

When we got to the beach there was loads of green seaweed stuff all over the place, loads of it everywhere!

It's not as though we have had a storm overnight, maybe some sort of seaweed bloom?

Anyway, OTL wouldn't let us go onto the beach, just in case!

It might give us Grumbly Tums that lead to Sore Bums!
You can see where the high tide mark is by how far up the beach the green stuff is!

You can get some strange stuff washed up on the beach in hot weather!
Miss May hasn't been out for a little while so she was a little tired after running along the path and she asked for a carry. She does enjoy sitting on OTL's shoulder watching the world go past and of course, there is also OTL's ear to lick!

OK, the eye looks better and now I need a carry!
Lunchtime it was really hot, so Monty and Wendy were left in the cage to snooze the afternoon away!

Holly and I had fun on the Sea Wall while OTL was after the dragonflies again and today found a Green Darter!

We don't know it that is what it is called but it was the same as a Red Darter except it was green, not red!

It could be a Four Spot Greeny Darter!
Running along the Sea Wall is good fun 'cos the breeze blowing in off the sea means it is a little cooler and at the same time the concrete doesn't burn out paws like wot that tarmac does!

A Low Flying Holly Dog!
I think that tomorrow the temperature will be a little cooler than today, so, with a bit of luck both sets of ferrets can come out for a walk!

We haven't spotted Monty cuddling up to Wendy, maybe it is too hot. We saw OTL put Monty into the cuddle cup first and when he settled down, he put Wendy in as well.

Now, she had a sniff and climbed in without trying to beat up Monty but as soon as Monty realised she was in with him, he shot out like his tail was on fire!

We think Monty has got to be a little braver!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty.
