Catching up!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret here again!

Sorry about yesterday, we were so busy during the day helping Old Two Legs do all his filing of paper and then getting all the computer ready for his next 'Trading Year' we were just too late to do the Diary, well, that and the fact OTL decided to celebrate and got in a super Chinese Takeaway with loads of Plawn Clackers and King Plawns!

I must admit, we made little pigs look polite!

When we went out for our walk, OTL decided to take the Infrared Camera with him 'cos it really looks good when the sun is shining!

Mind you, the results are a bit like Marmite, you know, love it or hate it!

We love Marmite!

What do bunnies look like in Infrared?
Mind you the sniffs on the football field were unaffected by infrared, the only one who was affected was OTL who told us off when we went for a roll!

Come on, there's another sniff over here!
OTL was still playing with the camera looking for and artistic shot!

A path to nowhere!
Down at the Sea Wall we though there could be a chance of a swim but when we got there we found the sea was somewhere near the horizon!

Well, it was here this morning!
We headed up to the Grass Path and met up with young Zeus who after a sniff decided he wanted to play 'Chase' so we joined in for a while, until we all got to hot to continue!

Nothing like a game of Chase!
After a while Zeus was called away which to be honest, we didn't mind 'cos we we almost worn out!

We headed for the picnic table where there was some shade to relax under while OTL was trying to photograph a Red Darter Dragonfly, without much success!

Do you think it is compulsory for TL's to do that?
Back home the ferrets were fast asleep. To keep them cool OTL had put a frozen pack under their beds which as far as a ferret is concerned, is heaven!

So, a Sunday well spent, now we got some chicken to look forward to tonight.

Then an early night and with a bit of luck, an early morning run on the beach!

Holly has been looking at the calendar and reckons we have just over five weeks before we are on holiday again and with a bit of luck, we may still have this good weather!

See you all tomorrow!

Another Fry day!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret here again!

Well, I don't know about you but we have had a very hot day down here. At lunch time after our walk we had to drop some stuff off at the carriers. As we got close to the carrier, Old Two Legs took a look at the dashboard menu and saw that the outside temperature was thirty two and a half degrees!

The air conditioning doesn't work too well in the big car so it felt as hot inside as it was outside!

You know we had to open the windows to get some fresh air!

This morning we had a gentle breeze but the sky was cloudless, so we knew to expect a day for hunting out the best shade!

Not a cloud to be seen!
The football field where they held the Goose Fair the other week, there are still loads of super sniffs, especially around where they had the 'Hot Dog' stand!

Trust Holly Chops to find every one of them!

This is the Burger and Chips spot!
When we got down to the Sea Shore the tide was out but I decided to have a game with OTL. I was off the lead so I waited until we got to the Sea Wall and then jumped down onto the beach as if I was going to have a swim in the mud!

There was OTL, jumping up and down and promising me all sorts of doom and gloom and a severe wash!

Well, I pretended not to have heard him but I stayed out of the mud and climbed back up onto the Sea Wall!

I really could do with a mud bath!
Of course, I didn't go into the mud, I mean, I didn't want OTL to blow his top especially as today is Friday and there is a chance of a Rawhide Chew after the Tesco man has been!

The rest of today has been spent hunting out cool dark places!

It was good to hear Archie Babes TL is back and up to speed, it's amazing what they can do with a new pair of grey/green stockings!

The only problem Holly can see is that if they are too tight, you could end up with a double chin and soon you'll end up looking like a British Bulldog!

It has cooled down enough for me to go looking for my dinner, so I'll say bye, bye for now and 'see you tomorrow'!

Holly plays The Tart, again!

Hello Woofers!

Us back again! Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Midd Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

Another super hot day today. We went out this morning and both Holly and I had our new harnesses on.

Dead smart we looked as well!

The only problem with the harnesses is that they really should be for Autumn or Winter time or even maybe early Spring when there is a chill in the air.
Today it felt a little too warm and in fact at the lunchtime stroll we got Old Two Legs to remove the harnesses all together!

This morning was fun though, especially when Holly spotted Bert and said she was going to 'Wind Him Up'.

That means Holly is about to play The Tart again!

These things do look good but they get a bit warm under the legs!
While OTL was trying to stop me from rolling in a real stinky sniff, Holly had wandered on a bit and sat down.

Hey! She says over her shoulder, 'Look what is coming over the hill!

I Spy with My Little Eye, something beginning with Dozy Bozo!
Sure enough coming over the hill was Bert, on his lead as usual.

Hey Girlie, wait for me!
'Here' says Holly with a wicked look in her eye, 'Let's have some fun!

Look into my eyes Bert my boy!
Poor Bert, he is in love with Holly but all she does is wind him up something rotten!

Bert stood for a while looking at Holly who didn't move a muscle and Bert still couldn't move away 'cos he was staring into her eyes!

Wot lovely Big Brown Eyes you have my dear!
That was it, Bert moved just one hair closer and Holly jumped sideways!

Fooled Ya!
Holly bounced off laughing her tail off and poor Bert was left all on his own watching her waddle off down the hill!

She can be a terrible tease sometimes and it seems that Bert gets it every time!

It's a good job Archie Babe isn't here, he'd sort her out!

We were glad to read that Archie Babe's TL is back and giving her orders, poor Boy, stuck between a rock and a hard place!

See you tomorrow!

Do we look The Dogs or Wot!

Hi Woofers!

Us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

Wot a super warm day it's been, no rain, just sunshine!

Mind you, it was a little cloudy to start but no rain!

A morning that is 'Just Right'!
Now, I don't know if you remember, but we got a new coat come harness at the Kent County Show and they cost so much that Old Two Legs was worried we may damage them if we put them on!

Well, today my harness was in  the wash to get all the mud and sea weed off it from yesterday so today OTL had to get out the new one!

Once the straps had been adjusted to fit Holly and I set off to wow the lads!

Come on! Take a look at us!
I must say, we did look 'The Business' especially as the harness has a handle on the back so OTL can lift us in and out of the car if we are too tired from running around chasing rabbits and Nargles!

Well, I don't see any Nargles but we still look The Dogs Do Darrs!
We got down to the beach but there was no one to see us, just a couple of Two Legs with their Mini TL's off for a paddle in the mud!

We were about to head home when little Amber popped up and wanted to look at the harnesses!

Dead impressed she was as well!

It looks a good fit under your tummy!
Those handles on the back will come handy when we are muddy 'cos OTL will be able to pick us up and load us into the car. Mind you, if he picks us both up at the same time...................we look like a couple of Doggy Bags!

Now, if you think we are spoilt, just take a look at Rocky's latest bit of furniture, it's a Podium so he can watch the world go by outside his cage!

OK, so where is my Nibble Pot?
We have not heard anything yet but Archie Babe will keep us informed how his TL is doing. I wonder if he has got 'Boy' trained yet?

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

....................but it was only a Little Swim!

Hi Woofers!

Here we are again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

It's getting warmer!

Mind you, first thing this morning it was raining when we went out, not much but enough to notice and the clouds looked all dramatic!

Never mind dramatic, just look at the rain coming down the Medway!
We only just made it back to the car in time before the heavens opened up and dropped a load of water all over the place!

Lunchtime came and the rain had all gone, the sun had come out and it was beginning to get hot!

We met up with Skipper in the football field and had a chat about the missing sniff. He reckoned that the rain washed it all away, well, let's face it, it washed all the dust and dead fly's off the car!

That rains got a lot to answer for!
Skipper said hello to Old Two Legs as he passed. We don't often get to meet up with Skipper but it is always an enjoyable chat when we do!

Hello OTL, I've just sniffed your woofers!
As we got to the Sea Wall, OTL forgot to put the lead on me. I sort of walked behind him just like I was going to wander around the grass and then head off to the grass path and off to the car.

Well, that's what it looked like before I legged it down the beach and straight into the water!

It was just great, jumping and splashing and rolling on the sand and then in again for another swim!

As you would imagine, OTL tried to stop me but I was just too fast for him and I had a great time!

Just the weather for a swim!
I was covered with sand and sea weed and soaking wet but I didn't care, well not then anyway.

When we got home it was a different matter.

I was shoved into the kitchen and OTL went off to get all the hair cutting stuff and the washing stuff and the drying machine and the torture table!

I was then washed, shampooed, shaved and almost all my whiskers taken off!

I was trimmed all over and I even got my claws trimmed to boot!

Now I'm bald, clean and about two pounds of hair lighter than when I woke up this morning!

What will he do if I go in swimming tomorrow?

We hear that Archie Babes Two Legs is off to the TL Vet tomorrow, let's hope all goes well and she is back in no time, I mean, someone has to open the Doggy Scoff tin!

Bye for now!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

In Trubble, Again!

Hi Woofers!

The Gangs all here! Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

Now, you know how sometimes you think everything is going well and without trying very hard, the sky sort of falls in and Pooof! Everything hits the fan and your name is poo?

Sort of happened to Holly and me today!

This morning we were out early 'cos Old Two Legs was having trouble sleeping, it was The Missus marching up and down the stairs and turning the lights on. You see she had been woken up by the loud sound of her 'Singing', well she calls it singing but we all call it snoring!

Anyway, there we were almost an hour early down on the sea wall enjoying the cool air. It was rather overclouded, so OTL didn't bother with the camera which was rather clever 'cos half way around it started to rain!

Now, we haven't seen that for a long time!

Back home we were all damp and ready to roll around on the bed but TM had stripped it ready for washing. She was not a happy puppy 'cos there was no way to dry the bedclothes because of the rain!

Lunchtime it all changed, out came the sun and everything started to warm up and OTL had even brought his camera with him, minus the 105mm lens, he decided to go back to the 35mm lens!

As we headed across the football field Holly and I caught a passing whiff of a sniff to die for!

If the wind is blowing from that way then the sniff must be in that direction!
We let OTL wander on a bit while Holly and I tried to home in on the source!

It's over there, just past OTL, in fact, he is almost sitting on it!
Holly and I decided to leave it alone until we got back and if we could get ahead of OTL then not only would we get a good sniff, we'd get a roll as well before he caught up with us!

Off we went, our plan would be spot on and OTL wouldn't suspect a thing!

Looking across the Medway we could see the clouds, a sight we had almost forgotten about over the last couple of months!

All dramatic looking!
On our way back, Holly kept up a steady trot, which was most unlike her and OTL had to keep calling her back.

OTL was starting to get suspicious! In fact he was getting very suspicious and called us both back. Well, we didn't go back, we just sort of stopped and dawdled until he caught up and then 'Click' he had attached the yoke to our harnesses and that was it, no sniff, no roll, not happy!

It was your fault, trotting your backside towards the sniff, anyone could see you were on a mission!
Well, that was it, we got marched back to the car and we missed out on the best sniff of the day!

Rat Holes!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret.

A bit damp and windy, the weather not me!

Hi Woofers!

Us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

Well, today hasn't been very exciting really, we've had some rain, then we had the wind, then there was a little more rain and after that came the F1 racing!

I must admit, I slept all the way through the race and didn't wake up until the end to find that Lewis won it!

It hasn't been so hot but Old Two Legs decided that the ferrets would still have to stay indoors, just in case they got over heated running around!

Mind you, we reckon they could have got away with it first thing this morning.

We could see for miles!
The tide was out, the wind was blowing in of the river and it sniffed just right for a ferret! Still, OTL doesn't want the ferrets to get over heated so they stayed in bed!

When we get back home, the normal procedure is for Holly and I to get out butt's checked and wiped if needed. (Cause being a grumbly Tum).

After that we head for the bedroom so we can watch out the window while OTL goes poo shovelling.

The ferrets are let out of their cage for an hour and a half to rampage around the house while OTL has breakfast and then cleans cages!

We were given some cardboard tubes which OTL has cut to length, just big enough to go under the stairs, the ferrets are diving in and out of the tubes having a great time! Eric just loves them and so does Monty who seems to dive in and then later, roll out! It has been noticed that Miss Wendy and Monty will have a game of pretend fighting, a sure sign that things are going well with them!

Miss May is getting on a bit now but still enjoys a play fight with Eric but has a liking for rolling onto her back, half wriggling out of the tubes and 'Mouth Fighting' with Eric.

Holly and I did that when we were puppies, but not in a cardboard tube!

We hear that Rizzo has had an operation to remove a fatty lump and is recovering well. Rizzo is one of Izzy's family.

Holly said that she has fatty lumps but after the vet did a biopsy it was recommended that she goes on a diet!

Those vets can be sooo cruel!

You know, OTL is working hard getting all the 'Books' done 'cos it is the end of his 'Financial Year' and come the first of August will be starting his twenty fifth year 'in business'!

He says it seems like only a couple of years!

You know that is longer than Holly and I added up together!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret.

Rain? Wot Rain?

Hi Woofers,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret here again!

Wot a disappointment, I mean, we were supposed to have rain, floods, storms, lightning, thunder and all manner of wet.

What did we get?

Five minutes of rain, just enough to make the ground wet, then, nothing!

Talk about being cheated!

You know, even Holly was looking forward to a little roll of thunder!

OK, I know it has been a bit cooler today but we reckon that is because of the wind that has been blowing!

We had some fun this afternoon, Old Two Legs was looking at the pond and trying to work out which of the Lilly plants he will cull at the end of summer when he spotted a small movement on the side of the pond and guess what he saw?

It's one of Trevor's family!

He was complaining that he had been waiting ages for a cold beer and a side serving of Fly Pie!

The poolside service is so slow here!
Just across the pond and under an overhanging rock, his little brother was keeping out of the sun and keeping an eye open for grass snakes and Nargles!

I could do with just a bit more 'Damp' if you know what I mean!

The insect life wasn't up to much today due to the strong wind, so anything that flew was hanging onto the grass and staying put!

That was everything except spiders and creepy crawly bugs and grass hoppers.

It's a grasshopper, not a cricket!
Holly Chops did some investigating on the Internetty when she got home and reckons the cricket has long antennae and shorter legs in relation to their body length!

She then went on about crickets stridulate ("sing") by rubbing their wings together, while grasshoppers stridulate by rubbing their long hind legs against their wings.

Every time I try that OTL tells me to stop scratching my ear and then spends some time investigating the insides of my ear, just in case I have some bug or bits of grass in there!

So, after all that, it was a grasshopper!

OK, I'm of now 'cos I can hear dinner being served!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

It's Fry Day!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret here!

What a day it has been down this end of the country! You know it's a good job Old Two Legs no longer has his weather station 'cos he would be boring the pants off us with data all about temperature and humidity and pressure and stuff like that. Nowadays we just come up with .....Blooming Hot!

Well, the official report on today's weather is....Blooming Hot!

We had a bit of running around to do today so we used the big car 'cos it has air conditioning, well, it has but it;s not working very well! It takes ages for it to chill the inside of the car, so an appointment has been made for the car to go in for some TLC!

So, today we headed off to the sea side for our walk  and we came across  Mike the Marathon, he has a brother called Sid the Streak!

This family are all runners and are planning to enter the next Olympics, Gastropod Sections!

Can't stop, I'm on a Time Trial!
We left him to it, it was too hot for us to go running!

OTL went off looking for more interesting things to photograph and came across this Hover Fly similar to one we saw the other day!

It's just too hot to hover!
He also found another Hover Fly that was slightly different in its markings. It just goes to show that we have a wide range of insect life on the path along side the sea!

Another branch of the Hover Fly Family!
We still haven't seen any lizards or grass snakes yet but we will keep looking!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

Something new!

Hi Woofers!

Us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

Well, it has been a rather hot day today, in fact it has been very hot!

To help cool off Old Two Legs has been dipping the ferrets into a tray of cold water. The way they reacted you would think they had been dipped into a volcano!

Still, it helped cool them down and then made OTL laugh as they were trying to dry off by rolling around on the carpet!

Lunchtime it was just too hot to do anything but OTL called Holly and I into the bathroom where he wrapped a cold wet towel around the pair of us!

I must say, it was rather cool and enjoyable, right up to the point where a dribble of cold water dribbled down under my tail and made me thing I had ants in my pants!

That was the end of that!

This morning there was nothing insect like to photograph but instead we got these shots of the sun, not bad, not brilliant but not bad!

We liked the colours on this one and......................

...............we liked this one for the colours and the composition!
OTL took this one of us retreating, it was a case of 'Does my tail look big like this!

Speed sniffing up the Grass Path!
I'm off to find a cool place and OTL has just been called to dinner!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!
