The forecast is for sunshine!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret here!

Today hasn't been too bad weather wise hasn't it?

Down here there has been a bit of cloud but it has been pleasantly warm and first thing this morning young Eric decided he would come out with us for a walk, leaving Miss May to enjoy a snooze!

Holly and I chased a rabbit but as normal it got away by diving into a hole!

Them Rabbits can be right sneeky!
Eric decided that they were not worth chasing and was quite happy to stay back and let us get on with the chase!

I don't know why they bother, I mean, they never catch one!
In the forest Eric was having a great time sniffing all the sniffs. His coat is super smart and the bright sheen looks 'The Business'!

Do I look good or wot?
Lunchtime Monty and Wendy decided they would come out but they fell asleep on the way down to the sea shore and were successful in blagging a lift in the ferret bag!

Just wake me when we get there!
About the point where we start heading back to the car, we spotted a beetle scurrying across the wooden steps but we all decided to leave it along!

A Bug Beetling along!
Both Monty and Wendy enjoyed the run in the long grass and the meadow flowers!

Miss Wendy just loves the grass and the sniff of the plants!
Being Friday, Old Two Legs normally finishes early but today he had some deliveries to make and he had stuff to take to the carriers so that means he hasn't finished until late, poor lad!

Us woofers on the other paw have enjoyed a super afternoons snoozing!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

Happy Birthday Eric de Ferret!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret here!

Another one of those very busy days. First of all, it's Eric de Ferret's official birthday today!

We have been discussing his exact birth date and it ranges from 30th May up to 1st of June, so, we have settled on the 30th May so that if it is the 1st then he will get his birthday song a couple of days early!

OK, all together, after the count of twenty seven....................nine, fourteen, twenty seven!

Happy birthday to you,
All wee wee and poo
Sniff yer butt for a pressie
Happy birthday to yoooooooo!

There you go and he is all of three years old now and is just as much a terror as when he first arrived here!

It took a little while to settle down with Miss May cos she missed her sister but now they always seem to be cuddled up together and you can thank OTL for that cos he spent time with them both and made sure May didn't try to nip Eric too much!

Eric came out with us this morning while May stayed in bed for a snooze but she was all up and dancing about when we came back and was rattling the cage door to be let out for a rampage and some breakfast!

OTL took the car down for an MOT but it failed, seems that one of the front springs was busted and the shock absorber was in need of replacement so he had to go down to the main dealer to get an appointment and for them to check they had the correct springs in stock!

So, no time for any pictures today, especially as at one time OTL was swinging from the gutter cleaning all the moss out!

Dinner is on it's way so we will make it a quick one today cos we are expecting some beef tonight as a special treat for Eric!

See you tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

Good News Day!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret here again!

Well, as you know, we took Monty to the vets so he could get stabbed to prevent him getting Distemper.

Monty didn't like it, in fact he had to be held by Old Two Legs while the vet attacked Monty with that nasty sharp thingy!

Before that, the vet was listening hard through his stethoscope to Monty's heart listening for any signs of cardiomyopathy. Poor Monty was getting all upset and was in need of a cuddle, so he scrambled up the front of OTL and snuggled up under OTL's chin and wouldn't come out again until it was time to go!

The results were that the vet couldn't hear anything untoward and suggested we come back in six months for a checkup, just in case or sooner if the coughing gets any worse.

Which, OTL says, is 'I don't know, get proper ill and we'll see later'!

Mind you, he did have a good look at Miss Aprils notes about when she had cardiomyopathy and notes the medicine she was given.

This morning we went out for our walk but this time we took Eric with us for a run. Miss May decided it was just too early to get up so she went back to bed to wait until breakfast time!

OTL had some jobs to do including getting an MOT done on the big car but when he got to the garage they told him the machine wot doz the testing was broken, so he will have to come back tomorrow if they can't fix it today!

Still, one good thing, while he was out he picked up some chicken chews for us woofers and some chews for the ferrets as well!

Yum, Yum, Yum!

Lunchtime we left the ferrets snoozing and headed off to the sea shore. It was still all cloudy and gloomy and there were no butterflies to see, all the bugs seemed to have gone with the possibility of a few flies and a couple of Buff Tailed Bumblebees!

Not the most exciting day, however, we did have some fun.

Now you remember how Archie Babe got into trouble mucking up the duvet? Well, Holly and I have a surprise for OTL when he gets into bed tonight 'cos we were given a carrot each and we made a bit of a mess on the bed. So, to get out of trouble, we hid all the carrot crumbs under the duvet, on OTL's side of the bed!

Pity it wasn't some doggy biscuits, crumbs, that would be fun!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

Worried about Monty!

Hi Woofers!

It's us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

Well, it's been a bit of a cloudy day today, nothing too exciting and not many bugs buzzing about!

This morning walk was full of cloud. and just a little blue sky.

Yeah, so it's sort of cloudy, so wot?
We didn't find many bugs, just a few mossies and a couple of bumble bees going potty over the pollen in the flowers!

The river looked pretty boring so we left it all together and headed down to the forest but there was nothing down there either!

Medway on the Mud!
Early this morning Old Two Legs called the vet to arrange for Monty to get stabbed with his  distemper thingy.

At the same time the vet is going to give him a check over 'cos Monty has been coughing rather violently and OTL remembers that Miss April used to do that and she had Cardiomyopathy. So, OTL wants to get it checked out before it gets worse!

We don't want Monty to get sick!

Now, it's close to his appointment time so we are off now.

More news later!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

Moth Hunting!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret here!

Old Two Legs has been a right Porky Piggery today. Remember that cake? Well OTL reckons that Tracy makes the best fruit cake he has ever tasted, second only to the one he had last year which was also made by Tracy Hastings, who is also a Cat Woman, but we don't hold that against her!

Last night OTL got the moth trap thingy out last night and set it all up and just before he went to bed the heavens opened up and dumped a load of rain on the moth trap!

Luckily the electrics are sealed to IP65 or something like that and in the morning it was still working!

So, next OTL starts unloading egg boxes from the trap we find that there is just one insect in the boxes and that one has drown in the water!

As OTL starts to dry out the trap he disturbs some moths that have been hanging on the wall!

To start off we identify a White Ermine, looks good!

White Ermine
Now, this one is a bit of a weirdo, look carefully and you will see the antennae are very very long!

The male has antennae up to four times the wing length! Best of all he waggles them up and down to attract the females!

Nemophora Degeerella
Now, the next is a bit of a puzzle but we reckon it is a Mouse Moth, pass the cheese please!

Is it Cheddar?
Now this one suddenly started flying around but we don't reckon it came from the  moth trap but rather was on the look out for breakfast!

Now we are not 100% sure but it could be an Emerald Damselfly or a Scarce Emerald Damselfly!

Well, it might be, Emerald Damselfly or a Scarce Emerald Damselfly!
This one is better, it's a Ladybird, with spots!

Morning Lady!
On our walk we spotted this bloom, looks lovely!

Another Wild Rose!
Look wot we found! This is Monty getting a cuddle from The Missus over the weekend Crafty Thong!

He gets all the best cuddles!
Well done to Christina who correctly identified the deadly nightshade we found the other day.

Remind me to wee on it next time we see it!

Hey! Remember the Lupin we spotted? We' it seems we were totally wrong and they are Foxglove!

OK, so we are not right all the time but what is worse, someone has cut the flowers down!

That is just not on!

Lunchtime was fluffy clouds and a warm breeze!

Yep! Summers here!
OTL had a good laugh at a bee that was rolling around in a load of pollen! Now that's not fair 'cos we get told off!

Roley, Roley,Roley,Roley,Roley,Roley,Roley,Roley,Roley, Roll!
That's it for today, OTL is going to put out the moth trap again tonight and see what we get!

See you tomorrow!

A Muggy F1 Sunday!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret here!

It has been one of those muggy days here in the south, it started off with a breeze and some cloud, then it went all sunshine and  after our midday walk it went sort of cloudy and muggy. We could almost say it looked like rain was heading our way!

We found another new butterfly and it's called a Green Hairstreak, it's nothing rare but we hadn't seen one!

A Green Hairstreak hiding in the green leaves!
We spotted a caterpillar hanging by a single strand looking to land on something!

Wheeeeeeeeeeeee!
On the news this morning some scientist were looking for reports of Cuckoo Spit which is really the Frog Hopper in hiding.

Well we saw some but can't remember who to report to!

Well here is the spit but where is the Frog Hopper?
This is a new plant to us but the colours look dramatic!

No, we don't know but it looks good!
Now, yesterday I promised some pictures and here they are!

2019 Crafty Thong!
Now this one is the cake that Rosie won but said OTL could have!

Who's a Lucky OTL!

One seriously Yummy Cake!
The only problem is, OTL wants it all for himself and won't share with us!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

It's The Crafty Thong!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret here!

Yes, it's the weekend all the Crafty Ladies have been waiting for all year!

It's the Allhallows Crafty Thong!

There were loads of ladies having a great old time sloshing glue and glitter and doing loads of amazing things!

Holly and I didn't get to go up there but instead we sent Wendy and Monty up for cuddles!

There was the famous fruit cake that has some serious icing and Old Two Legs had four goes to guess it's weight. Well he looked at it them moved it across the table and had another guess.

Guess wot?

He didn't win, Miss Rosie guessed the weight but she said that if she won, the cake was to be given to OTL on account he so loves fruit cake!

OTL was tickled pink and asked that we send super big thanks to Rosie for such a wonderful present.

He also won a bottle of giggle juice that The Missus has already pinched!!

One Happy OTL!

We will show you the pictures tomorrow 'cos he left The Missus to bring the cake home by the car as it was too heavy to carry home on foot!

The day has been full of sunshine and blue skies and this morning OTL spotted what he thinks is an Irish Damselfly which is supposed to be a bit of a rare sight. Looking at the body it seems to be black with blue rings and that is the only mention made in his Book of Insects, so begorogh, it's Irish!

Is Dublin anywhere near?
There were not many moths or butterflies around, or maybe OTL just didn't spot them, so, he went chasing flowers.

Well, at least they don't fly away!

Well, it's yellow!
 These were easy, Daisy'!

Daisy's for a Daisy Dog!
Now, remember these? We reckon they look like Whizz Bangs so that's what we called them. Never did find out their real name!

Whizz Bangs!
OK, we know this is a weedy plant but it has green stems, white flowers like a parsley and this one has red leaves!

Now this is just odd!
This is hidden up the top of the field, we don't normally go up there but as the blooms were out OTL walked all the way up and took this picture!

A super Lupin hiding up the top of the field!
So, bye bye for now!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

We are getting all excited now!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret here!

Well, this house is all full of boxes stacked all over the place. We've got raffle prizes and crafty stuff, bottles of giggle juice and stacks of stuff!

It's all ready for the weekend Crafty Thong the girls are having this weekend. It looks like The Missus will be up the village hall both Saturday and Sunday, so, us woofers at home will be looked after by Old Two Legs who has been given one of those 'Ready Meals' that looks like something that really should go in a Poo Bag and get put in the rubbish bin!

OTL reckons it also tastes about the same!

Still, it's all in a good cause and the Ferret Rescue will be able to afford the vets bills for any ferret that needs it.

All today it's been all warm and sunny but this morning there was little sign of flying bugs, I suppose it was just too early for them and they hadn't warmed up enough to fly around!

We thought that there was a gigantic moth flying out of the bushes but it turned out to be a Magpie!

I'm a Magpie and you can't catch me!
On the wooden steps we found a Pea Bug or as OTL calls it, a Wood Lice! We had seen it before but it didn't hang around to have its photo taken!

Is this wood rotten yet?
There was another wild rose we found when we went the wrong way down the path!

I just love the colour on this one!
So, other than the Wood Lice the only other thing we saw was the Hover Fly and looking in the book we managed to identify the species as Eupeodes Nitens!

Yep! I'm a Eupeodes Nitens! Any one know what that means?
Lunchtime May and Eric came out with us and had a good walk along the top path and through the woods.

Today they seemed to spend half the walk in the Ferret Bag and half the time sniffing the sniffs! One thing about walking the ferrets is that it takes soooo looooong!

Mind you, that does mean Holly and I get to sit in the shade while the ferrets and OTL catch up with us!

Back home we crashed out in the office and I even gave OTL a cuddle, just when the tea and biscuits turned up!

It's good to know you got friends!

See you tomorrow and we might even have a photo or two of all the glue slappers!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

Getting Warmer and I get Hung Up!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret back again!

Wot a super day it's been.

We were out early this morning enjoying the early morning sun. Loads of sniffs, nothing new but just interesting.

The must have trodden in something real sniffy!
Old Two Legs was doing his normal bug hunting but other than a single spider, there was nothing worth a picture!

Where is everyone today?
So, just one spider and a flower that looked worth a click!

A Wild Rose with flluffy bits on it!
Back home we got sent to the bedroom while the ferrets got to rampage around the house and OTL got to shovel ferret poo!

However, all was not well.

I fancied a scratch on the side of my neck and proceeded to give it some, trouble was, I got my Dew Claw caught in my collar and couldn't get it out.

So, there I was with one paw up in the air and not moving and the other three paws on the ground.

I was stuck!

Holly took one look and said that OTL should be informed, so, she woofed,  and then she woofed some more but with a bit more of an insistence.

OTL thought that the woofing was not the normal woof we give if the postman or cat passed the door and came into the bedroom to see what the matter was, saw me with a paw in the air and unhooked me!

Then, after checking me for injuries, he gave Holly a 'Well Done' stroke and a cuddle and told her she was a good girl!

I got a cuddle as well!

Lunchtime both Monty and Wendy came out for a run but it was rather warm so they didn't run around but rather had a slow mooch along the path and through the forest.

We saw a couple of butterflies but OTL didn't have his camera so no pictures today, maybe tomorrow!

We are all getting excited about the weekend up at the village hall and both sets of ferrets plan to put in a show!

Let's hope Rosie will be there!

See you tomorrow!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

A Snoozy Sort of Day!

Hi Woofers!

Here we are again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

Ever get one of those days when nothing much happens but the day just sort of flies by, excluding the snoozes in between!

Well, it's been one of those days here. We have had Old Two Legs gassing on the telephone while the ferrets were running about their cages making a terrible noise which in turn woke us up and both Holly and I told them to be woofing quiet!

Not that they took any notice of us at all and carried on crashing about!

Going out for our walks there was nothing to interest us, just the normal sniffs, nothing new or exciting!

OTL tried photographing a Buff Tailed Bumble Bee diving in and out of the flowers but we reckon he should have put the setting on 'Speed', still, by the time he worked that out the bee had gone!

Can't catch me I'm a buff Tailed Bumble Bee!
Everything else was hiding or still asleep!

Mind you, lunchtime Eric and May came out for a walk and had OTL chasing about picking them  up and then putting them down, then picking them up again as they had a great game with him.

Mind you all this playing OTL up means the walk is rather slow!

Come on, we want to get home today!
Maybe tomorrow will be a bit more exciting, I mean, we could come across a woofer in a baby grow or a ferret sticking out of jacket!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

......................and now we return a few years later!

Hi Woofers!

Here we are again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

Now you remember yesterday when we got hold of that photograph of Old Two Legs and Cousin Alun? Well, first of all Alun wasn't wearing bloomers or a baggy skirt! No he was wearing what was the 'In Fashion' all in one suit that allowed a nappy to be worn underneath, only he wasn't wearing a nappy it was just that he still had that suit to play in!

No one had much money in those days and we had to wear things line knitted swimming costumes!

However, a few years later on, in fact in the mid sixties we had a few bob in our pocket and could afford all the latest gear!

Now, OTL is on the left with Alun in the middle and Glynis on the right and yes, even then OTL had a camera in his hand!

Didn't they look smart!
Nowadays the pair of them are loosing their hair and are a bit slower!

Today it has been sunshine almost all day and OTL still has a camera in his hand to take pictures of what interests him, like these weeds called Alexandria. The village committee are doing their best to chop it all down!

If this goes there will be nowhere for the bugs to play!
Now, this one looks like a sort of nettle plant 'cos there are so many spikes on the leaves, but the flower is a good shade of blue!

Just look at those spikes!

You know it almost looks like a face in the middle there!
Both Holly and I ran away from OTL and headed down onto the beach for a quick paddle and a dig in the sand.

OTL knew where we were and sat himself down on a bench to wait for us. Now Holly and I couldn't see him on the bench so the pair of us came running back at top speed and I did my best to fly!

High Speed Daisy Dog in full flight!
Holly didn't manage to get airborne but came steaming through the grass like a 4X4 on steroids!

Out of my way, this could be a crash landing!
Back home we had a mooch in the garden while the sun was shining on the pond then headed back indoors for a snooze before dinner time!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

We're running short of Creepy Crawlies!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret back again!

Old Two Legs has fun going away with his cousin Alun for a few days up in Scotland seeing all the sights and visiting all the distilleries and generally having a good time. Now, we found out that this is not a new thing, apparently they have been doing this sort of thing since they were very young!

OTL is on the right!

Hey! You got any Gripe Water?
Enough of this history lesson!

There wasn't too many things to photograph this morning, there was a snail having breakfast.

This leaf isn't very fresh!
There was a House Fly who was looking for a house to invade!

This is bad, not even a Bungalow to be found!
Now, we did find a new bug and it is described as 'One of the Squash Bug'!

I suppose that is because it looks like it has been trodden on! We have seen the Shield Bugs but this is the first one of this species we have seen!

Coriomeris Denticulatus, if you can pronounce it, but I'm still a Bug!
This bug looks funny with the badge on its back. There is another but it has black line down the side of its shoulder.

These bugs are getting very technical!

Today we had some drops of rain half way around the lunchtime walk so we decided to head back home and have a well earned snooze this afternoon.

We know how to live!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

More Bunnie Chasing!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret here again!

Well, we said we would be back but they just didn't listen!

So, there they were, munching their breakfast and chatting away.

Yeah, I just love a relaxing Sunday Breakfast.
 When..............................................

Chaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarge!
We didn't catch them 'cos they spotted us at the last moment and dived into the brambles and that was it, no Bunny Breakfast for us!

Being a Sunday everyone seemed to be in bed, even the snails were snoring their shells off!

No thanks, I want at least another half an hour!
One of the funny things was to see a Crane Fly trying to hang onto two blades of grass and the wind blowing him all over the place!

I need a climbing rope and crampons!
A bit further on there was Sid The Streak dining on a leaf  and getting ready for his morning run!

This could do with some Brown Sauce!
There, on the next leaf sat one of those nasty, hairy arsed, blood sucking monsters that attacked Archie Babe. It's a good job that the mosquito lives down here and not up near Archie 'cos it might be suffering from a serious head ache!

Hey Man, fancy being a blood donor today?
We left her hanging on the leaf and went hunting Bunnies!

Old Two Legs saw another wild rose showing off its blooms and took this picture!

A Gentle and Soft colour to the petals.
Now, we have got a serious problem, we can't think about our Archie Babe without bursting out in laughter, I mean, a Baby Grow!

Now we thought he was a big brave macho woofer!

We reckon that the best thing he could do is to find a big pile of smelly sniff and have a good roll, just to add a little 'colour' to it!

We are off to pick up The Missus from The Cat Woman's house, all the cleaning up has been done and the house is back to 'Acceptable'!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret.
